Chandigarh, 22.3.2026 - Chandigarh Beopar Mandal's Founders' Day cum Traders' Day Gala Function turned out to be a historic event, with a massive gathering of traders showcasing the strength of the trading community of Chandigarh under the umbrella of CBM. The event saw the presence of esteemed guests, including Sh. Sunil J Singhi, Chairman, National Traders Welfare Board, and Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Chandigarh.
Key Highlights of the Event
The function commenced with a welcome address by Sh. Sanjiv Chadda, highlighting trader issues and expressing gratitude to the dignitaries for resolving some of the concerns. Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria shared information about the steps being taken by the Chandigarh administration to address long-pending issues of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, including law and order and providing help to small traders. He appreciated the traders' unity and presence in strength.
Government Policies and Reforms Highlighted
Sh. Sunil J Singhi explained the Central government's policies and changes done by the Modi government in facilitating growth of all medium traders of India. He highlighted reforms in GST and other steps towards easy compliances that will contribute to making India a third-largest economy in the world. He applauded Sh. Charanjiv Singh's nomination as a member of the National Trader Welfare Board.
Tribute to Late Sh. Inder Lal Batra
A lamp was lit in memory of Late Sh. Inder Lal Batra, and Mrs. Inder Lal Batra was honoured with a memento. A booklet on his life and achievements, compiled by Diwakar Sahoonja, was released.
Successful Blood Donation Camp
The event included a successful blood donation camp, collecting 120 blood units.
Vote of Thanks
Sh. Charanjiv Singh, Chairman CBM and member National Trader Welfare Board, thanked the dignitaries and the National Traders Welfare Board for fulfilling some demands raised by CBM.
