MAHENDERGARH, 04.02.26-The STEM Cell, in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics, Department of Physics and Astrophysics, Department of Biotechnology, and Department of Biochemistry, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh organised an expert lecture titled “Actin Treadmilling: Turning the Dogma on Its Head”. The expert talk was delivered by Dr. Ankita Arya, a Postdoctoral Scientist at SciLifeLab, Karolinska Institute, Sweden.

The programme commenced with an introductory address by Prof. Anil Kumar Yadav, Head, Department of Mathematics, who highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of the event and the role of STEM Cell in promoting collaborative research across departments. Dr. Ankita Arya, an alumnus of IISER Mohali and a PhD graduate from Emory University, USA, shared insights from her research on actin dynamics, emphasizing how the integration of single-molecule biophysics, biochemical experiments, and mathematical modeling is reshaping conventional understanding of actin treadmilling.

Her talk highlighted recent advances that challenge long-standing dogmas and open new avenues in cellular biophysics and systems biology. The lecture provided valuable exposure to cutting-edge interdisciplinary research and encouraged meaningful academic interaction among participants. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Rupesh Desmukh, Head, Department of Biotechnology.

Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta (Dean, School of Basic Sciences), Prof. Anil Kumar Yadav Prof. Rupesh Desmukh, Prof. Jitendra Kumar, Prof. Pawan K Maurya, Prof. Ankush Vij, Dr. Arun Kajla, Dr. Shah Jahan, Dr. Jagjeet, Dr. Mulaka Maruthi, Dr. Pradeep, Dr. Pooja Rani, Dr. Meenu Thakur, Dr. Yashveer Kalkal, Dr. Jaswant Yadav along with 100+ research scholars and students from various departments attended the session and were benefited from the talk.
