MAHENDERGARH, 03.02.26-The Department of History and Archaeology, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh organized a heritage tour to Narnaul with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to historical monuments and regional heritage.

The programme commenced with a flag-off ceremony by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar and Registrar, Dr. Suneel Kumar, who encouraged students to engage deeply with India’s rich cultural and historical legacy.

The tour was led by the Head of the Department, Prof. Tirathraj Bhoi, while Dr. K. R. Palsaniya served as the tour coordinator. Dr. Abhiranjan Kumar also accompanied the group as a faculty member. Under their guidance, participants explored several important heritage sites in and around Narnaul.

The group visited the 14th-century monument Chor Gumbad, the tomb of Shah Quli Khan, the historic Jal Mahal and the scenic Dausi Hills. Faculty members provided detailed explanations about the architectural features, historical background and cultural significance of each site, helping students connect theoretical knowledge with field experience.
The heritage tour proved to be an enriching academic experience, enhancing students’ understanding of medieval architecture, regional history and heritage conservation. Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative and emphasized the importance of such educational tours in promoting historical awareness.
