Chandigarh, 16 January 2026: The Start Up Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Post Graduate Department of Commerce, under the aegis of Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) 8.0, successfully organized an interactive session titled “The Startup Spark”.

This event was organized on the occasion of National Start-up Day with the aim of spreading awareness and motivating the students to opt for innovative and start-up-related paths. The event included the Investiture Ceremony of the newly constituted core team of the Start Up Cell, which saw the responsibility of leadership being delegated to the students.

The key speaker for this event was Ms. Anubhi Khandelwal, who is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at the deep-tech startup, Terafac Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Ms. Khandelwal spoke about her experience as an entrepreneur, her insights into new startup culture, and new government policies related to funding and assistance available to new startups in India. The event was well-attended, and the students seemed to have been motivated by the topic that was discussed. The event ended on a positive note by successfully kindling entrepreneurship ideas in students and further cementing the commitment of the institution towards innovation, startup ventures, and women entrepreneurship on campus.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the efforts of the Startup Cell and the Department of Commerce for organising a thought-provoking session. She encouraged students to harness their creativity, develop problem-solving mindsets, and contribute meaningfully to India’s growing innovation ecosystem.
