CHANDIGARH,13^th January 2026-The Post Graduate Department of Computer Science & Applications, GGDSD College, Sector 32, Chandigarh, in association with IBM, organized a two-week value-added course on Artificial Intelligence, including Machine Learning and Deep Learning, under the supervision of IBM expert Mr. Rohit Pawar. The course was conducted from 2^nd January to 13^th January 2026, with 26 students enrolling in the program.

The course provided a comprehensive understanding of Python programming, chatbot development, and an in-depth exploration of the domains of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. It effectively bridged the gap between theoretical concepts and real-life applications. Students gained hands-on experience through multiple projects based on Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), cloud platforms, and explored various aspects of Generative AI. They learned data preprocessing techniques, model training, performance evaluation, and acquired practical knowledge of data management in real-world scenarios.

The program was designed as an interdisciplinary initiative to enable students to master emerging and cutting-edge technologies. Course participants underwent assessments of appropriate rigor and were awarded IBM certifications and digital badges, which they can showcase in their professional communications. The primary objective of the course was to provide students with professional exposure and help them develop a strong blend of relevant skills required to succeed in today’s competitive environment. Emphasis was laid on the importance of continuously upgrading skills, as reliance on outdated technologies is no longer sufficient to remain industry-relevant.

The course concluded with a valedictory function held in the presence of Dr. Ajay Sharma, Principal, and Dr. Rina, Head of the Post Graduate Department of Computer Science & Applications. The Principal addressed the students and guided future aspirants on the importance of such advanced courses in meeting market demands. He emphasized the growing significance of Artificial Intelligence and the necessity of continuous learning in the present era. The overarching aim of conducting such programs is to prepare students for challenging careers and enable them to become valuable contributors to the nation’s growth.

Dr. Rina concluded the event by proposing the vote of thanks to the resource person and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the course coordinators, Dr. Sheetal and Dr. Shruti, while expressing optimism for more such innovative collaborations in the future.
