Two arrested for snatching
A case FIR No. 01 u/s 304(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh on the complaint of a woman resident of Hallo Majra, Chandigarh, alleging that two unknown persons on a bike snatched her ear ring near Dove Hotel, Village Hallo Majra, Chandigarh, on 10-01-2026 at about 6:45 pm and sped away. Later on, accused Karan S/o Tulsi Ram R/o #154/C, Sunder Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh (age 24 years) and Jitender @ Dabra S/o Krishan R/o #327, Sunder Nagar, Mauli Jagran Part-2, Chandigarh (age 22 years) were arrested and are in police lock-up.
Two arrested for theft
A case FIR No. 03 u/s 303(2) and added 317(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station IT Park, Chandigarh on the complaint of Roshan Lal R/o Subhash Nagar, Manimajra, Chandigarh, alleging that unknown person stole his cycle from near his house on 24-12-2025 between 10:15 am and 11:15 am. Later, accused Manoj Patel R/o Kishangarh, Chandigarh (age 28 years) was arrested. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 02 u/s 305(B), 331(4), 317(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh on the complaint of Bittu Kharl R/o Sector-18/C, Chandigarh, alleging that Vishnu Kumar R/o Village Mungawali, District Ashok Nagar (MP), age 24 years, stole his purse near Altius Hotel, Phase-2, Industrial Area, Chandigarh, on 10-01-2026 at about 8:25 pm. The accused has been arrested. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Accident
A case FIR No. 06 u/s 115(2), 281, 126(2), 351(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rohit Goyal R/o Sector-16/D, Chandigarh, alleging that the occupants of car No. PB-10HY-8218 hit his Honda Mobilio car No. CH-01AZ-6235 and quarrelled with him near GH-16 Chowk on 07-01-2026 at about 10:00 pm, before fleeing the spot. Investigation of this case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 03 u/s 281, 106(1) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sarangpur, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sagar R/o Khuda Lahora, Chandigarh, alleging that Abhinav Sharma driver of Innova car No. CH-01CU-5541, hit the complainant’s bike No. T1225HP6848Q near NIIMS University turn on 07-01-2026 at about 12:09 pm. The complainant and pillion rider Abhinav Sharma were injured and admitted to PGI, where the pillion rider later succumbed to injuries during treatment. Investigation of this case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 03 u/s 281, 106(1) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sr. Ct. Parveen alleging that Bhagat Singh R/o Sector-41/A, Chandigarh, age 41 years, driver of Baleno car No. CH-01CB-6873, hit a pedestrian lady Sarabjeet Kaur R/o Sector-40/C, Chandigarh, age 60 years, near Sector-40/41 light point. The injured woman was taken to GMSH-16, where she was declared dead. The accused has been arrested. Investigation of the case is in progress.
