Two arrested in NDPS case
A case FIR No. 01 u/s 21-29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-03 against Mohmad Shaban S/o Mohmad Mehmood R/o District Bijnor (UP), aged 23 years, and Mohmad Zeeshan Ansari R/o same address, aged 19 years, who were apprehended near CM Punjab Residence on 03-01-2026 at about 6:30 pm. 198.35 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession. Both accused were arrested and lodged in Operation Cell.
Two arrested for Public Drinking Case
A case FIR No. 01 u/s 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station Manimajra against Sonu Rawat R/o Village Kishangarh, Chandigarh, aged 26 years, who was apprehended near open ground close to Kala Gram Wine Shop, Manimajra, on 03-01-2026 at about 6:25 pm, while drinking and creating nuisance at a public place. The accused was later released on bail.
A case FIR No. 02 u/s 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station Manimajra against Prem Kumar S/o Late Rameshwar Dass, R/o Manimajra, Chandigarh, aged 56 years, who was apprehended near open ground wine shop, Motor Market, Manimajra, on 03-01-2026 at about 7:20 pm, while drinking and creating nuisance at a public place. The accused was later released on bail.
One arrested under arms act
A case FIR No. 04 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Maloya against Manoj @ Moji R/o DMC, Chandigarh, aged 38 years, who was apprehended near the cremation ground, Village Dadu Majra, on 03-01-2026 at about 5:00 pm, and one kamanidar knife was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and kept in police lock-up.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 02 u/s 420 IPC has been registered at Police Station Sector-19 on the complaint of Parminder Singh Gill R/o Sector-51/A, Chandigarh, alleging that Amit Kapoor R/o Sector-20/C, Chandigarh, cheated him of ₹30 lakh on the pretext of providing Net Plus broadband services. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Theft
A case FIR No. 02 u/s 303(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-34 on the complaint of Virender Singh, SDOP-II, BSNL, Telephone Exchange, Sector-34A, Chandigarh, alleging that an unknown person stole underground copper cables (800-pair and 1200-pair cables of varying lengths) after cutting the duct near the NABARD Office, Sector-34A, on 03-01-2026. Investigation on this case is in progress.
