*Congress Has a History of Undermining Democracy – Energy Minister Anil Vij*
*Rahul Gandhi Unable to Cite a Single Case of “Vote Theft” — Anil Vij*
Chandigarh, September 29 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij today launched a strong counter to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, questioning his repeated allegations of “vote theft” against the BJP. “Rahul Gandhi keeps shouting about stolen votes, yet he cannot cite even a single case of vote theft. In fact, it is the Congress party that has a long history of undermining democracy and free elections. It was for this very reason that the Allahabad High Court once annulled the election of Rahul Gandhi’s grandmother for electoral malpractice,” said Vij.
The Minister further cautioned against attempts to disturb national peace through propaganda tools. “No one objects to anyone’s personal choices, but it appears that new experiments are being conducted through toolkits to create unrest in the country. This is not acceptable,” he added.
On the issue of law and order, Sh. Vij emphasized that “The Chief Minister remains fully active in maintaining strict control over crime. The administration has been given a free hand to deal with offenders, and many criminals have already been brought down. Claims made by Congress leaders about rising crime are far from the truth.”
While intracting with media persons today, responding to Rahul Gandhi’s latest jibe describing the BJP as “vote thieves” and “paper thieves,” Vij said that “Some people grow up using foul language and cannot express themselves respectfully. Rahul Gandhi should explain what exactly he wants to say.” He reminded the media persons that it was Congress that repeatedly misled the nation with false promises. “They raised the slogan of ‘Garibi Hatao’ (eradicate poverty), won elections three to four times on this falsehood, and yet did nothing. Congress has always thrived on lies, while our government is focused on genuine welfare schemes like the Ladli Lakshmi Yojana, being implemented in states including Haryana and Bihar.”
On the recent “I Love Mohammad” trend and related hoardings in Lucknow, Vij said that “Love between individuals is not a problem. But if under this cover stones are pelted, guns are fired, law and order is undermined, and conspiracies are hatched to disturb the nation’s peace, then it becomes dangerous. It seems that new toolkit-driven experiments are being tried to create unrest.”
He said that “Congress has always manipulated democracy for its own benefit. The Emergency declared after the annulment of Indira Gandhi’s election is a reminder of this history.”
