Amit Shah Keeps His Promise; CBI Begins Probe into Jhota Case: Kewal Singh Dhillon

Punjab Government Must Hand Over Gulzar Singh and Bikramjit Singh Cases to CBI, Says Dhillon

Chief Minister Must Resign in Line with Demands of Jhota’s Family and Struggle Committee: Dhillon

Chandigarh, October 21, 2026: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has kept his promise, with the CBI launching its investigation into the Parvinder Singh Jhota case last night, Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon said on Wednesday.
Dhillon said Shah had assured Jhota’s family during a meeting in Mansa on Tuesday that the case would be handed over to the CBI. According to Dhillon, the agency’s team reached Mansa later that night to begin the investigation, and a case was registered against the accused.

He expressed confidence that the CBI would conduct a fair and impartial investigation, bring the probe to a swift conclusion and ensure strict punishment for those found guilty. Reiterating the BJP’s commitment to securing justice for Parvinder Singh Jhota and other victims, Dhillon said the investigation must establish accountability and ensure that everyone responsible is brought to justice.

He also urged the Punjab Government to transfer the Gulzar Singh and Bikramjit Singh cases to the CBI, following the same course of action as in the Jhota case. He said an independent investigation would help ensure justice for the families concerned. Dhillon further expressed confidence that Shah’s resolve to make Punjab drug-free by December 31, 2029, would be fulfilled, adding that the state would be freed from the menace of drugs.

Backing the demands of Jhota’s family and the Struggle Committee, Dhillon called for the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party government had failed on multiple fronts, including governance, the fight against drugs and the maintenance of law and order in the state.

BJP Backs Two-Day Employees’ Strike; Dhillon Calls AAP Government Anti-Employee

Four-and-a-Half Years of Neglect: Kewal Singh Dhillon Slams AAP Government Over Unfulfilled Promises to Employees

Chandigarh, October 21, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has extended its support to the two-day statewide strike by government employees in Punjab on October 21 and 22 over their long-pending demands. Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of being anti-employee, alleging that it had neglected employees’ concerns for the past four-and-a-half years.

Dhillon said the government’s continued indifference and failure to honour its promises had forced employees to wage a prolonged struggle for their rights, causing inconvenience to the general public as well.

He pointed out that several key demands, including the release of pending Dearness Allowance (DA) and the regularisation of contractual and outsourced employees, remained unresolved despite repeated appeals.

He said the AAP had made numerous promises to government employees before coming to power, but employees were now being forced to take to the streets to demand their legitimate rights. He added that the government’s policies had fuelled growing discontent among employees, adversely affecting the functioning of government departments and the delivery of public services.

Dhillon urged the Punjab Government to immediately initiate talks with employee unions and resolve their legitimate demands within a fixed timeframe. “Employees need concrete decisions, not mere assurances,” he said, stressing that the government must fulfil its responsibilities and protect the rights and interests of its employees.

Government Must Address Demands of Punjab Roadways and PRTC Contractual Employees Without Delay: Avinash Rai Khanna

Chandigarh, October 21, 2026:Former Punjab BJP State President Avinash Rai Khanna on Wednesday accused the Bhagwant Mann government of failing to honour its commitments to contractual employees of Punjab Roadways and the Punjab Roadways Transport Corporation (PRTC), saying government inaction had forced them to struggle for their legitimate rights. He said the Punjab BJP stood firmly in support of the employees’ agitation.

Avinash Khanna said contractual employees of Punjab Roadways and PRTC had been raising their demands with the government and departmental officials for a long time, but no concrete solution had been forthcoming. He said the government’s indifference was affecting not only the employees but also the general public, with students, working professionals and other commuters facing considerable inconvenience while travelling on state-run buses.
He said the government must seriously consider the employees’ key demands, including the regularisation of long-serving contractual workers, the abolition of the outsourcing system, and the placement of outsourced employees under a contractual employment framework. He urged the government to review the existing system and ensure job security and the benefits due to the employees.

Khanna appealed to the government to engage in meaningful dialogue with the employees and resolve their demands at the earliest. He said an early settlement would help end the impasse and spare commuters the inconvenience caused by the strike.
