Engineering Department Provides Online Complaint Redressal Facility for Government Houses
The Engineering Department, Chandigarh Administration, provides an online facility through the e-Awas Portal for registering complaints relating to the repair, renovation and maintenance of Government Houses. The facility aims to simplify and digitise service delivery, reduce the time required to lodge complaints, and ensure transparency, accountability and timely grievance redressal.
Residents can register complaints relating to Civil, Electrical, Public Health and Horticulture services through the e-Awas Chandigarh website and mobile application. Each complaint is forwarded to the concerned Junior Engineer for necessary action. The system enables monitoring of complaint status and action taken by officers at various levels.
An escalation mechanism is in place for complaints that remain unresolved within the prescribed time or where required action has not been taken. Such complaints are referred to higher authorities to ensure timely redressal, effective monitoring and accountability.
Multiple Options for Registering Complaints
Residents can lodge complaints through the following channels:
1. e-Awas Portal and Mobile Application: Residents can register complaints by logging on to the e-Awas Chandigarh website or using the e-Awas mobile application, available for Android and iOS (Apple) users.
2. Centralized Common Control Room (CCCR): Complaints regarding all types of issues pertaining to the Engineering Department can be lodged round the clock by calling 0172-2742370 or 9465475020.
3. Complaint Booth/Centre: Residents can visit the designated Complaint Booth/Centre to submit complaints on working days, excluding public holidays.
These channels allow residents to register complaints conveniently, while the online system facilitates monitoring and follow-up. The escalation mechanism ensures that unresolved complaints are brought to the attention of higher authorities for appropriate action.
The Engineering Department, Chandigarh Administration, remains committed to providing efficient, responsive and transparent maintenance services for Government Houses, with an emphasis on timely grievance redressal, improved service delivery and greater convenience for residents.

Chandigarh, October 11, 2026: The Special Voter Registration Camps organised across U.T. Chandigarh from October 7 to 11, 2026, concluded successfully today. Around 880 Form 6 applications were received on the final day, bringing the total for the five-day drive to 3,963. The camps facilitated the enrolment of eligible citizens, particularly left-out, young and first-time voters.
During the drive, a total of 5,497 applications were received for various electoral services. These included 3,963 Form 6 applications for new voter registration, 1,452 Form 8 applications for correction of entries, change of residence within the constituency and other permitted modifications, and 82 Form 7 applications relating to objections and deletion of names from the electoral roll.
The Final Photo Electoral Roll-2026 for the 01-Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency was published on September 22, 2026, following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
As part of the drive, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) displayed lists of electors identified as Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD) during the enumeration phase at their respective polling stations. This facilitated public verification and enabled citizens to report discrepancies.
The Election Department reiterated that voter registration is a continuous process and remains open after the conclusion of the special camps. Eligible citizens whose names are not included in the electoral roll can apply for enrolment by submitting Form 6 at the Election Office, the concerned Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) Office, through their BLO, or online through the ECINET portal or app.
Citizens can also seek assistance from their respective BLOs through the “Book a Call with BLO” facility available on the ECINET platform. For further information or voter-related assistance, citizens may call the Voter Helpline at 1950.
The Election Department urged all eligible citizens to verify their names in the electoral roll and ensure their participation in the democratic process.
