Chandigarh, October 11: Reacting to Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav’s opposition after the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved a proposal to name Noida Airport after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that the Prime Minister who has given the country such dignity and respect deserves this recognition. He said that today, India’s name is known and respected across the world.

Sh. Vij said that India was once regarded as a weak nation, but now, if any country dares to commit an act of aggression, it is pursued and punished even within its own territory. He said that the country has made progress in every sector and is moving ahead in all fields. “If a Prime Minister has resolved to make India a developed nation by 2047, can an airport not be named after him? It certainly should be,” he asserted.

Sh.Vij added that places across the country should be named after Narendra Modi so that ordinary citizens can draw inspiration from his personality and leadership.

“Opposition elements are disrupting the country’s peace at the behest of foreign forces; people have rejected them everywhere” — Vij

Responding strongly to questions about the “Cockroach Janata Party” protest in Delhi and the opposition’s participation in it, Energy Minister Anil Vij said that these elements were playing into the hands of foreign forces and wanted to disturb the country’s peace. “They do not respect the law or the Constitution, and they turn non-issues into issues,” he said.

He said that the Supreme Court has laid down clear rules for demonstrations at Jantar Mantar, but these groups do not follow even those rules. “Everyone has the right to protest, but it is essential to abide by the rules,” Sh.Vij stated.

The Minister said that people had rejected these elements/people everywhere. Referring to the recent by-elections, he said that despite all the noise and drama, the Congress had not won even a single seat. “People know that they are merely staging a spectacle,” he said.

*Anil Vij Attends Maha Yajna for World Peace in Ambala Cantonment, Pays Reverence to Muni Shri Nishchintsagar Maharaj*

Chandigarh, October 11: Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that peace in the world is possible only when there is peace among nations; peace among nations is possible when there is peace among states; peace among states depends on peace among districts; peace among districts depends on peace in cities; and peace in cities is possible only when we, as individuals, are at peace with ourselves.

Sh. Vij was addressing devotees this morning at the Vidhan and Maha Yajna for World Peace, organised by Shri Digambar Jain Sabha at Jain Girls Senior Secondary School in Ambala Cantonment. Expressing his reverence for Muni Shri Nishchintsagar Maharaj, Sh. Vij said, “I feel blessed that Muni Shri Nishchintsagar Maharaj has come to my city, my birthplace, for the Chaturmas period. A Maha Yajna for world peace has been organised here today, and I offer my heartfelt salutations at his holy feet.”

He said that in the present era, there could be no greater message than the message conveyed through a Maha Yajna for world peace. As the elected representative of Ambala Cantonment, he offered his deepest respects to Muni Shri Nishchintsagar Maharaj.

The Energy Minister said that Jainism has always been regarded as a symbol of peace because of its principles, values and teachings. Society comprises diverse elements, each of which has its own contribution to make. He observed that when people embrace the values and philosophy of Jainism, their outlook can also influence those who seek to spread discord. Illustrating the far-reaching impact of individual actions, Sh. Vij said that even the act of plucking a flower generates energy that, in his analogy, can affect even a distant star. Therefore, whatever we do has an impact on society as a whole.

He explained that if fights and violence occur regularly in a neighbourhood, their effects are felt throughout the city. Similarly, he said, the positive energy and message of a Maha Yajna for peace can reach far and wide, even to distant stars.

Sh. Vij emphasised that the world needs peace more than ever today. Looking at the global situation, he noted that conflicts have continued to erupt in different parts of the world over the past several years. He said that growing concerns about the possibility of a world war have made the global community apprehensive, while the initiative undertaken by the Jain community represents an effort to promote peace.

*Controlling Our Desires Is the Best Way to Attain Peace: Anil Vij*

Sh. Vij said that human beings were not created to live in discord; rather, unrest arises when desires grow beyond the means available to fulfil them. He stressed that the best way to attain peace is to exercise control over one's desires and remain grateful for what God has bestowed upon us.

He said that there can be no injustice in God's court, and that the Creator knows better than anyone what each individual needs. God, who created the world and humankind, has provided for everyone. When people learn to remain content with what they have, peace prevails; when they constantly seek more, dissatisfaction and unrest follow.

Giving an example, Sh. Vij said that a person who owns a bicycle may believe that buying a scooter will bring happiness. After acquiring the scooter, the same person may aspire to own a car, and after getting a car, may begin dreaming of an aeroplane.

He explained that people keep pursuing new possessions in the hope of finding happiness, but true joy does not lie in external possessions; it resides within us. Learning to recognise and appreciate this inner happiness, he said, is essential to achieving peace and contentment.

Earlier, upon his arrival at the school premises, Sh. Anil Vij was warmly welcomed by office-bearers of Shri Digambar Jain Sabha. He paid his respects to Muni Shri Nishchintsagar Maharaj and sought his blessings. On behalf of the Sabha, Sh. Vij was also honoured with a memento.

Those present on the occasion included Jain Sabha President Rajesh Jain, former president and advocate V.K. Jain, Dr. Rajiv Jain, Vineet Jain, Vijay Jain, Atul Jain, Lalit Jain, Anil Jain, Sunil Jain and Raman Jain, along with a large number of devotees.
