Chandigarh, 30 September: The College Library of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organised a one-day workshop on ‘Effective Utilisation of E-Resources’, and a week-long Library Orientation-cum-Workshop to enhance students’ and faculty members’ awareness and effective use of the Library’s print and digital resources.
The one-day workshop focused on the effective use of the Clarivate- ProQuest E-Books College Complete collection subscribed to by the College. The session was conducted by the Senior Zonal Head, Clarivate-ProQuest, who provided practical guidance on searching, browsing, accessing and utilising e-books for academic and research purposes. An interactive demonstration familiarised participants with the platform’s features and encouraged greater use of digital resources for teaching, learning and research.The Library also organised a week-long Library Orientation-cum-Workshop for students.
Conducted by the College Librarians, the programme familiarised students with the Library’s resources, facilities, services and digital information platforms. Students received hands-on orientation to the Koha OPAC for searching books by title, author, subject and other parameters, along with introductions to the National Digital Library of India (NDLI), DELNET and INFLIBNET and other electronic resources. Special emphasis was placed on the effective utilisation of the Clarivate-ProQuest E-Books College Complete collection. The sessions featured practical demonstrations, interactive discussions, and a Mentimeter-based quiz to reinforce learning.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the Library’s initiative and encouraged students and faculty members to make optimum use of the available digital resources to strengthen teaching, learning and research.
