CHANDIGARH, 30.09.26-Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav IAS DC-cum- Estate Officer, UT Chandigarh, chaired a review meeting of the Estate Office to assess branch-wise pendency, progress under auto-mutation, digital service delivery, record management and the redressal of public grievances.

*During the meeting, the Chair was apprised of the following:

*Pendency status: A total of 230 applications are pending across all branches, all within the prescribed timelines. The Estate Officer directed all branches and officers to dispose of the remaining cases within the stipulated time and to expedite the few cases awaiting replies from concerned parties and other departments.

*Auto-mutation: Since the facility was introduced on 07.07.2025, 2,031 deeds have been received. Of the 600 deeds received between 01.05.2026 and 23.09.2026, 552 have been disposed of (543 approved and 9 rejected), 33 have been returned with objections and 15 are under process.

*Record management: Branches were directed to prepare branch-wise inventories, label their records and shift scanned physical files in a phased and organised manner, to ensure safe preservation, better use of space and easy traceability.

*Public grievances: The Estate Officer reviewed the status of grievances and representations received under the CIA Branch during 2025-26 and 2026-27. Officers were instructed to submit action taken reports promptly, dispose of pending cases as per rules and keep the applicants informed in a timely manner.
