Chandigarh, September 29, 2026:As part of Rashtriya POSHAN Maah 2026, a series of interactive, nutrition-focused and community outreach activities were organised across various Anganwadi Centres and field areas of Chandigarh to promote healthy practices, early childhood development and awareness about nutrition among children, parents and community members.

At Mauli Colony, a Parent-Child Interactive Activity was conducted through simple learning and play-based activities aimed at promoting positive parent-child interaction. Parents and children participated enthusiastically, with the activities encouraging bonding, communication and learning through play.

An Anaemia Camp was also organised at Circle 25, wherein beneficiaries were provided with information and guidance regarding prevention and management of anaemia and the importance of a nutritious and balanced diet.

At Palsora, storytelling, rhymes and various interactive activities were organised for children. The children enthusiastically participated in the activities, making the session engaging, joyful and educational. The activities also encouraged children's communication skills, creativity and learning through play.

Various other activities were also undertaken under the POSHAN Maah, including antenatal check-ups, awareness sessions on overall nutrition, lectures on the need and importance of nutritional supplements, registration of newly identified pregnant women, and awareness sessions on prevention of anaemia. These activities aimed to promote maternal nutrition and ensure timely access to essential health and nutrition services.

As part of community-level outreach, home visits were undertaken to sensitise families on a range of health, nutrition and early childhood development issues. During these visits, families were encouraged to promote and maintain fruit-bearing plants, while awareness was also created regarding the importance of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), oral hygiene, healthy eating habits, and the identification and prevention of childhood obesity.

The activities conducted during Rashtriya POSHAN Maah 2026 emphasised the importance of community participation and collective responsibility in improving nutrition, health and early childhood development.
