Chandigarh 13th August -The National Human Rights & Anti-Corruption Force Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Market Welfare Association (Regd.), Sector 44-D, celebrated Independence Day as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan”, while simultaneously promoting the message of “Say No to Drugs – Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat.” The programme was organised with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at the Market Complex, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh. Nearly 90 members of NHRACF and MWA-44D participated in the programme. *Councillor-cum-Senior Deputy Mayor S. Jasmanpreet Singh, DSP South Madam Gurjit Kaur, and SHO Sector 34 Sh. Shadi Lal graced the occasion as Guests of Honour*.
Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, President, NHRACF, welcomed the Guests of Honour and all members of NHRACF and MWA-44D Addressing the gathering, he said that NHRACF has been celebrating Independence Day as a regular feature and that this year the organisation has further strengthened the celebrations by spreading the important social message of “Say No to Drugs – Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat.” He recalled that the campaign poster was released by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria Ji, and emphasised the need for sustained public participation in the fight against drug abuse.
Panchhi further said that building a drug-free India and empowering the youth to stay away from drugs is an important vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi Ji. He appealed to citizens, particularly the younger generation, to join hands and contribute towards making this vision a reality.
Anil Vohra, President, MWA-44D and Chairman, NHRACF, said that pamphlets carrying the message of Nasha Mukt Bharat were distributed among shopkeepers and members of the public in the market. Participants also took a pledge to support the “Say No to Drugs – Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” campaign.
Prominent NHRACF members present on the occasion included Rajan Mahajan, Rajat Malhotra, Ravinder Nath, Naresh Bansal, Anil Mahajan, Diljit Thukral, Arjan Singh, Pritpal Sodhi, Harjit Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, N.K. Jhingan, Navdeep Sharma, Vikas Batta and Arvinder Sodhi. Members of MWA-44D, including Vijay Johri, Narinder Pal Singh, Arvinder Singh, Ajay Ghai, Kulwant Singh, Vinay Kumar, Krishan Thakkar, Sandeep Kumar and others, also participated enthusiastically in the programme.
