Chandigarh, August 8:- Continuing its drive against encroachments and obstruction of public spaces, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today conducted an extensive enforcement drive across several sectors of the city and issued 106 challans to violators.
During the drive, the enforcement team cleared the area near the school boundary wall at the Burial ground in Sector 45, removing illegally dumped items including old tyres, car doors, seats, jacks and old vehicle engines. The action helped clear the boundary area and restore the cleanliness and accessibility of the public space.
The enforcement team also conducted a special drive in Sector 15 Patel Market and adjoining showroom areas. Encroachments and obstructions from public corridors were removed to facilitate smooth pedestrian movement.
Similar action was undertaken in Sectors 19, 22, 23, 26, 34 and 35, where corridors and public spaces were cleared of unauthorised obstructions.
