CM launches 'Takniki Rozgar Setu' Portal to strengthen employment opportunities for technical education students

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched the 'Takniki Rozgar Setu' portal of Technical Education department here on Monday evening. The portal is first of its kind digital platform aimed at connecting the students, technical institutions and employers through a unified system to streamline the placement and recruitment process in Himachal Pradesh.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the state government was committed to create a robust ecosystem for skill development and employment generation. The Takniki Rozgar Setu portal would serve as an effective link between aspiring youth and industry, ensuring better access to employment opportunities for students pursuing technical education.

The portal has been designed as a comprehensive digital platform where students can build their profiles, showcase their skill sets, upload details of training and certifications, discover job opportunities, apply online and track their placement status. The initiative would empower students by providing them direct access to employment opportunities and industry requirements.

Employers can register on the portal, post vacancies, review eligible candidates, initiate the hiring process and intimate the department about successful recruitments. The integrated system would facilitate transparent and efficient interactions between employers and job seekers while reducing procedural delays in the recruitment process.

The Chief Minister said that 164 institutions including 136 Industrial Training Institutes, 18 Polytechnics, five Engineering Colleges and five Pharmacy Colleges have been registered under this portal. He said that 26,168 students had got registration through Him Access Integration portal out of which skill mapping of 23,054 had been done. So far, 97 employers have also registered with the portal. He said that services of skilled manpower like electricians, plumbers etc. can also be taken for even minimal days' work through this portal and skilled manpower can register on this platform. He said that technical institutions would be able to manage student data, approve profiles and monitor placement outcomes through the portal. This would help educational institutions maintain updated records and strengthen their engagement with prospective employers.

Sh. Sukhu said that the state government was leveraging technology to improve governance and create meaningful employment avenues for the youth. He expressed hope that the Takniki Rozgar Setu Portal would strengthen industry-academia linkages, enhance employability and provide a reliable platform for skilled youth to secure quality employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister said that the state government remains committed to make Himachal Pradesh a hub of skilled human resources and ensure that the youth of the state were equipped to meet the requirements of the industrialists.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, Principal Secretary Dr. Abhishek Jain, Director, Digital Technology and Governance Dr. Nipun Jindal and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.

Samarth Atri calls on CM ahead of Asian Short Track Ice Skating Trophy 2026

Samarth Atri, a promising young athlete from Bhoranj tehsil in Hamirpur district, called on Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday evening and sought his blessings ahead of the prestigious Asian Short Track Ice Skating Trophy 2026.

Samarth has been selected to represent India at the international championship, scheduled to be held in Dehradun from 17 to 20 August, 2026.

Congratulating the young skater on his achievement, the Chief Minister extended his best wishes for a successful performance at the Asian event. He said that the state government was committed to create world-class sports infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh to enable talented athletes to hone their skills and excel at national and international competitions.

The Chief Minister lauded Samarth Atri for earning a place on the international stage through his talent, dedication and hard work, adding that his accomplishment has brought pride to Himachal Pradesh. He expressed confidence that Samarth would deliver an outstanding performance at the Asian Short Track Ice Skating Trophy and bring laurels to both India and the state.

A Class X student of the prestigious Auckland House School, Shimla, Samarth Atri has been training regularly at the Shimla Ice Skating Rink for the past six to seven years. He was recently selected to participate in the 21^st National Short Track Ice Skating Championship, where his impressive performance earned him a place in the National Training Camp. Based on his outstanding performance during the camp, he has now been selected to represent India at the Asian Short Track Ice Skating Trophy 2026.

'Chief Minister's Dialogue with Workers' programme begins

· Chief Minister calls upon party workers to unite and strengthen the Congress ideology

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today launched the 'Chief Minister's Dialogue with Workers' programme initially for the Pachhad assembly constituency in Sirmaur district and the Chopal assembly constituency in Shimla district. From his official residence, Oak Over, Shimla, the Chief Minister interacted with Congress workers from both constituencies, sought their feedback and discussed developmental works.

The party workers welcomed the Chief Minister's initiative and said that Congress workers stand firmly with the Congress government. They held detailed discussions on development works in their respective constituencies and assured the government of their full cooperation.

The Chief Minister urged all the party workers to remain united and strengthen the Congress ideology while taking the state government's policies and public welfare schemes to the people. He said that during the last three-and-a-half years, the state government has launched several welfare schemes to ensure the well-being of the people, and every eligible person should receive their benefits.

He stated that the Congress government inherited a deteriorated administrative system from the previous BJP government. Several measures have since been taken to improve the system. He said that significant reforms have been introduced in the health and education sectors. The number of postgraduate seats in medical colleges has been increased, which will further strengthen the healthcare sector in the coming years. In addition, Aadarsh Swasthya Sansthans have been established in every assembly constituency.

The Chief Minister said that over 150 government schools have been affiliated to CBSE by the state government. The move is aimed at providing quality education to the children living in rural areas and teachers in adequate ratio are being appointed in these schools. He added that to strengthen the rural economy, the government has increased Minimum Support Price (MSP) on milk procurement. Cow's milk is being purchased at Rs. 61 per litre, while buffalo milk is being procured at Rs. 71 per litre. He also said that the government was promoting natural farming and was providing MSP for agricultural produce grown through natural farming.

The Chief Minister further said that under the Market Intervention Scheme, the government has already made full payments for up to 30 bags of apples purchased from apple growers. The government will now make payments for up to 100 bags of apples, and the payments for quantity exceeding 100 bags will also be released soon.

Shri Sukhu said that the state government was bearing the educational expenses of children of widows and destitute women. Students were also being provided education loans of up to Rs. 20 lakh at one per cent interest under Dr. YS Parmar Vidyarthi Rin Yojana.

The Chief Minister assured the people that there would be no shortage of development in the Pachhad and Chopal assembly constituencies. Adequate funds would be made available to complete all pending works. He said that the state government has no shortage of funds for development and was committed to ensuring balanced development across the entire state.

On the occasion, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee President Vinay Kumar said that Pachhad was the birthplace of the state's first Chief Minister, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, and the state government was committed to ensuring its development. He said that by appointing him as the state Congress president, the Congress high command had honoured the entire Sirmaur district. He added that continuous efforts were being made to strengthen the party organisation across the state. He said that the government and the organisation were working together, and the Congress was set to return to power in 2027.

Former Speaker H.P. Vidhan Sabha Gangu Ram Musafir, Himachal Pradesh Congress General Secretary Vinod Jinta, Congress candidate from Chopal Rajneesh Kimta, Shimla Rural District Congress President Krishan Himral, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Minister Ritesh Kapret, Congress leader Dayal Pyari and other senior party workers were present on the occasion.
