Chandigarh, June 4:- Dr. Inder Jeet, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of the ongoing NAKSHA Pilot Project aimed at digitizing land and ownership records in selected village abadi areas of the city.

The meeting was attended by officials of the State Project Management Unit (SPMU) and Junior Engineers associated with the project. Detailed discussions were held on the status of field surveys, record preparation, and the timeline for completion of the project in the villages of Sarangpur, Attawa, Burail, Kajheri and Palsora.

Reviewing the progress made so far, Dr. Inder Jeet directed the survey teams and concerned officials to accelerate the remaining fieldwork and ensure that all pending tasks are completed within the stipulated timeframe. He emphasized the need for maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, transparency and accountability while preparing digital land and ownership records.

He stated that the NAKSHA Project is a significant initiative towards modernizing land record management and strengthening citizen-centric governance. The project will help create reliable, updated and easily accessible digital records, thereby enhancing transparency and improving public service delivery for residents of the concerned villages.

The Joint Commissioner also stressed the importance of close coordination among all stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of the project and timely achievement of its objectives.

The NAKSHA Pilot Project is expected to play a vital role in promoting efficient record management and supporting the broader vision of digital governance in Chandigarh.
