Chandigarh, 2 June: The Electoral Literacy Club of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised a workshop on ‘Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls’ for the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college. The workshop aimed to enhance awareness about electoral processes and facilitate informed participation in voter registration and verification procedures.
The resource person for the session was Dr. Suraj Thapa, National-Level Master Trainer, who provided detailed insights into the various phases of SIR programme. He acquainted the participants with important dates and timelines, procedures for voter registration, self-enumeration, progeny verification, draft electoral roll awareness, statutory forms, and the use of digital platforms for checking and updating electoral details. The session also addressed participants’ queries and emphasised the significance of maintaining accurate electoral records.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the efforts of the Electoral Literacy Club in organising the workshop and highlighted the importance of such awareness initiatives in strengthening democratic participation and promoting responsible citizenship among all stakeholders.
