SHIMLA-18 May, 2026-A meeting of the Ropeway and Rapid Transport Development Corporation (RTDC) was held here today under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania to review the progress of the proposed Naddi Zipline Project. Various matters including the departmental formalities related to the timely implementation of the project were reviewed in the meeting.
Deputy Chief Whip was apprised that the project was allotted on 18 February, 2026. A joint site inspection for the final selection of land for the proposed zipline stations was conducted on 5 May, 2026 by officials of the Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department, Jal Shakti Department, Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited, Forest Department and Revenue Department. Revenue records have also been signed by the concerned Patwaris and Field Kanungos.
It was further informed that the matter regarding the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) has been taken up with the Public Works Department, Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited and Jal Shakti Department. In addition, the case for issuing a certificate regarding the non-availability of non-forest land has been submitted to the Deputy Commissioner Kangra. After obtaining all required documents, the proposal for forest land diversion would be uploaded on the Parivesh Portal.
Kewal Singh Pathania directed the Deputy Commissioner Kangra to expedite the process of issuing the NAC certificate. He also instructed the concerned departments to issue the necessary NOCs at the earliest. The Divisional Forest Officer was directed to complete tree enumeration and other required formalities promptly so that the proposal can be uploaded on the Parivesh Portal without delay.
Kewal Singh Pathania said that the Naddi Zipline Project would give a new identity to adventure tourism in the state and create new employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth. He said that the project would play an important role in strengthening the state’s presence on the national and international tourism map.
RTDC Director Ajay Verma and other senior officers of the department were present in the meeting.
