Chandigarh, 18th May 2026-It has come to the notice of the Chandigarh Administration that misleading and fake news is being circulated regarding the alleged introduction of temporary fuel rationing at petrol pumps in Chandigarh, including purported limits of ₹500 for two-wheelers and ₹1500 for four-wheelers due to localized supply constraints.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh Shri Nishant Kumar Yadav clarified that no such orders have been issued by the Chandigarh Administration imposing any restriction or limit on the sale of petrol or diesel in the city.
It is further informed that there is adequate availability of petrol and diesel across Chandigarh. The Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have confirmed that sufficient fuel stocks are available and supply operations are continuing smoothly without any disruption.
Citizens are requested not to panic or engage in unnecessary bulk purchasing of fuel. All retail fuel outlets in the city are adequately stocked, and regular replenishment is being ensured by the OMCs.
The Chandigarh Administration is continuously monitoring the situation in close coordination with the concerned Oil Marketing Companies to ensure uninterrupted availability of petroleum products across the city.
Public cooperation is solicited to maintain normalcy and avoid any inconvenience.
