Chandigarh, May 15:- Acting on the directions of the MC Commissioner, Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, today conducted a special enforcement drive against unauthorized ice cream vendors operating in different parts of the city.
The drive commenced early in the morning at 8:00 AM and was carried out by the enforcement teams of the Municipal Corporation to curb illegal vending and ensure smooth public movement on roads, markets and other public places. During the operation, a total of 35 illegally stationed ice cream rehris were impounded for violating civic norms and operating without authorization.
The Commissioner said that such drives are being conducted regularly to regulate unauthorized vending activities and maintain cleanliness, traffic discipline and public convenience in the city.
