MAHENDERGARH, 14.04.26-The Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh solemnly celebrated a one-week celebration of the 135th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. During the one-week celebration, Painting, Speech, debate, quiz competitions, and a seminar were jointly organized by the SC/ST cell and the Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) under the inspiring theme: Dr. BR Ambedkar’s vision: “Educate to Empower, Employ to Uplift.”

In a series of one-week Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations, a seminar on 14th April 2026 was organized, which was witnessed to enthusiastic participation of more than 180 students, along with faculty members and staff members. The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. Antresh Kumar, Coordinator, SC/ST Cell & DACE, who greeted the distinguished guests and participants. The programme was graced by the presence of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, who served as the Chief Patron. In his address, he emphasized that the true essence of Dr. Ambedkar’s philosophy lies in supporting those who are marginalized and striving for inclusivity and diversity. He encouraged everyone to contribute meaningfully toward the betterment of others and to imbibe the teachings of Dr. Ambedkar in everyday life.

The keynote address was delivered by distinguished speaker Prof. Temjensosang from Nagaland University. He highlighted the crucial relationship between academia and society and elaborated on Dr. Ambedkar’s vision for tribal development, including the preservation of cultural identity, protection of tribal rights, and safeguarding of forest resources. He underscored the transformative power of education, stating that education not only builds skills and confidence but also fosters critical thinking, equality, and financial independence, thereby breaking cycles of poverty and exploitation. Another distinguished speaker, Dr. Vikas Jambhulkar from RTM Nagpur University, delivered an insightful lecture on the contemporary relevance of Dr. Ambedkar. He described Dr. Ambedkar as a symbol of resistance against injustice and a guiding force for addressing inequality. He urged the audience to introspect on their commitment to the values of equality and justice. Emphasizing the role of education as a continuous process of democratization, he encouraged students to empower themselves through knowledge and skill development in line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP).

The winners of the Painting, Speech, Debate and Quiz competitions received awards during this event. The programme was attended by several esteemed faculty members, including Prof. Nand Kishore, Prof. Sushila Soriya, Prof. Ashish Mathur, Prof. Rajender Prasad Meena, Dr. Manoj Kumar Gupta,Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Dr. Ravi Kumar, Dr. Ravi, Dr. Bhushan, and Dr. Rashmi Tawanr, Dr. Mahedner, Dr. Ajay, Dr. Anurag, Dr. Abhiranjan along with the SC/ST cell members and DACE faculty members; Sh. Mohinder Pal Punia, Sh. Jettender Yadav, Sh. Aman Kuamr Atkan, Staff, and DACE Students attended the program. The event concluded on a note of reflection and inspiration, reaffirming the university’s commitment to uphold the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar in fostering an inclusive, equitable, and empowered society. On this occasion, students from different departments and DACE attended the program.
