*Grand Statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to Be set up in Ambala Cantonment: Energy Minister Anil Vij*
*₹50 Lakh Allocated for Installation*
Chandigarh, March 31: Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij has announced that a grand statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, will be installed at 12 Cross Road in Ambala Cantonment.
To facilitate the project, the Minister has sanctioned an amount of ₹50 lakh from his discretionary fund. The funds have been released to the Municipal Council, Ambala Sadar, and the installation work is expected to commence soon.
Sh. Vij said that the statue will serve as a tribute to Dr. Ambedkar’s enduring legacy and contributions to the nation.
Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, a renowned social reformer, distinguished economist, and a champion of social justice. He dedicated his life to eradicating caste-based discrimination and advocated the powerful message: “Educate, Organize, and Agitate.” He also served as India’s first Law Minister.
His key contributions include promoting social equality, safeguarding human rights, and advancing education. Dr. Ambedkar established institutions such as the People’s Education Society to uplift marginalized communities. He earned degrees from Columbia University and the London School of Economics and consistently emphasized constitutional, democratic, and legal methods over violent means to achieve social transformation.
