Sixteen (16) persons arrested in Public Drinking
Yesterday, a drive to check on public place drinking was initiated by police station staff with the special concern of safety & security in view of the Republic Day-2026. In this drive, total 16 cases U/S 68(1)B Punjab Police Act 2007 & 355 BNS were registered under which 16 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place on 21.01.2025 The police stations wise detail of cases is as under:-

Voluntarily causing hurt
A Case FIR No 10 U/S 115(2), 126(2), 351(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 11 Chandigarh on the complaint of Deepak R/o # 2735, Sector 40 Chandigarh against Vikash Singh R/o # 2004, Mullanpur new Chandigarh who beaten to complainant at PGI on 13.01.2026. Victim sustained injuries and admitted to GH- 16 Chandigarh. Investigation of this case is in progress.
A Case FIR No 11 U/S 115(2), 126(2), 351(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 11 Chandigarh on the complaint of Vikash Singh R/o # 2004, Mullanpur new Chandigarh against Deepak R/o # 2735, Sector 40 Chandigarh who beaten to complainant at PGI on 13.01.2026. Victim sustained injuries and was admitted to PGI Chandigarh. Investigation of this case is in progress.
