Haryana Issues New Directions on Financial Assistance of ₹51,000 for Marriage of Daughters and Grand-Daughters of Freedom Fighters
 Chandigarh, November 4 The Haryana Government has issued fresh directions to ensure smooth implementation of the financial assistance scheme for the marriage of daughters, dependent sisters, and grand-daughters of State Freedom Fighters and INA personnel.
 According to a letter issued by Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi, the State Government has clarified that in the event of the death of a Haryana State Freedom Fighter/INA personnel or their widow, the son or daughter-in-law of the deceased freedom fighter will also be eligible to apply for financial assistance of ₹51,000 for the marriage of his or her daughter(s), who are the grand-daughters of the freedom fighter.
The decision aims to remove procedural ambiguity and address the difficulties faced by families in availing this assistance due to unclear provisions in earlier instructions.
 According to the new clarification, claims for financial assistance must be submitted within six months of the date of marriage and not later than 12 months, except in special cases with valid reasons, through the concerned Deputy Commissioner. After verification, the Deputy Commissioner will forward the claim to the Chief Secretary, Haryana, for sanction. The Administrator General and Official Trustee-cum-Treasurer, Charitable Endowments Haryana, will make arrangements for payment.
It has also been made mandatory that the financial assistance be disbursed only through Aadhaar-linked bank accounts to ensure transparency and direct benefit transfer.
 Additionally, the National Informatics Centre (NIC) has been directed to develop a web-based application system to facilitate online submission of applications for the Kanyadan Grant under this scheme.

Strict Action Will Be Taken Against Those Selling Banned Drugs: Arti Singh Rao
 8 Teams Formed for Inspection, 16 Shops Sealed for Violations
Chandigarh, November 4 Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao has said that strict action will be taken against those involved in the illegal sale of narcotic and banned drugs. She emphasized that any chemist or medical store owner found selling prohibited or psychotropic substances will not be spared under any circumstances. The minister has directed officials to carry out inspections.
 
Under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Commissioner of Food and Drugs Administration, Haryana, Sh. Manoj Kumar, has initiated further action on the minister’s directions. He informed that a large-scale raid was conducted in Sirsa district to curb the illegal sale of narcotic drugs. The operation involved 35 Senior Drugs Control Officers (SDCOs) and Drugs Control Officers (DCOs) from various zones and districts.
 
To ensure the effectiveness of the operation, 8 special teams were formed and assigned to conduct surprise inspections at chemist shops suspected of misusing psychotropic or dual-use medicines.
 
The raid was directly supervised by State Drugs Controller Lalit Kumar Goyal, accompanied by Assistant State Drugs Controllers Parvinder Singh, Karan Singh Godara, and Rakesh Dahiya from the FDA headquarters.
 
The operation was simultaneously carried out in several areas of Sirsa district, including Kalanwali, Badagudha, Dabwali, Rania, Ellenabad, and Sirsa city. The inspections began at 11:30 a.m. and continued until 6:00 p.m.
 
During the campaign, 67 medical stores were inspected, and 16 shops were sealed for failing to present required records and other violations. Fifteen samples were also collected during the drive. Show-cause notices will be issued to all erring shops, and further action will be taken under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
 
Health Minister Arti Singh Rao reaffirmed that the state government is committed to making Haryana drug-free and that such drives will continue. She made it clear that the illegal trade of narcotic substances will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Sex Ratio in Haryana improves from 905 to 913 compared to last year
 Make Reverse Tracking of Abortion cases more effective, directs ACS Sudhir Rajpal
 Chandigarh, November 4- Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Sh. Sudhir Rajpal has directed officers of the Special Task Force to make reverse tracking in abortion cases more effective so that strict action can be taken against those involved in illegal abortions. He expressed satisfaction over the improvement in sex ratio from 905 to 913 as of October 31, 2025, compared to the previous year, he encouraged officers to make further progress in this direction.
 Sh. Sudhir Rajpal was presiding over a meeting of the Special Task Force constituted to curb illegal abortions. Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Dr. Virender Dahiya, and other members of the task force were present.
 The Additional Chief Secretary said that FIRs must be registered against those involved in illegal abortions during reverse tracking, and sufficient evidence should be gathered to ensure the culprits are convicted. He further directed that if a case gets dismissed in a lower court, the Civil Surgeon should file an appeal in a higher court to ensure that the guilty do not escape punishment. He directed the legal officer to monitor these cases and ensure no laxity is observed.
 Sh. Rajpal also directed strict measures to curb the illegal sale of MTP kits, stating that collective efforts are needed to further improve the state’s sex ratio.
 He clearly stated that BAMS doctors are not allowed to perform abortions through MTP procedures, and if any doctor is found involved, their registration will be cancelled. If they are found guilty again in such cases after their registration has been cancelled, an FIR should be filed against them.

CM Nayab Singh Saini Announces Major Relief Measure for Farmers
 Electricity bill payments of farmers affected by floods and rains deferred for 6 months
 Around 7.10 lakh agricultural consumers in the state to benefit from this decision
 Chandigarh, November 4 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has announced a special scheme to provide relief to farmers affected by heavy rains and floods during the 2025 monsoon season. Under this scheme, the payment of electricity bills for all agricultural tubewell consumers in the state, for the period from July 2025 to December 2025, has been deferred for six months.
 A spokesperson of the Energy Department informed that the electricity bills issued in July 2025 will now be payable in January 2026. Similarly, the August 2025 bills will be payable in February 2026, and the December 2025 bills will be payable in June 2026. This decision will benefit approximately 7.10 lakh agricultural consumers across the state.
 The spokesperson further stated that the state government has clarified that during this period, no Late Payment Surcharge will be levied by UHBVN and DHBVN on any agricultural tubewell consumer, and electricity supply will continue as usual. The financial burden arising from this deferment will be borne by the Haryana Government.
 This decision aims to provide immediate financial relief to farmers affected by heavy rains and floods so that they can resume their agricultural activities at the earliest.
