Ludhiana 12 September 2025-New undergraduate students admitted in College of Dairy and Food Science Technology, College of Fisheries and College of Animal Biotechnology of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University underwent a personality enhancing Lifetime Learning Experience during Student Induction Program (SIP) named “Deeksharambh”, as per the guidelines of University Grant Commission. During the program students’ participation in various activities connected them to the university life and education system, with a positive mindset beyond doubts, anxiety and hesitations.

The program concluded on a high note with a visionary address of Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice Chancellor and officers of the university, instilling confidence and enthusiasm among the students to pursue their higher education with discipline and excellence.

Delivering the presidential address, Dr. Gill shared the university’s academic milestones and encouraged the students to adhere to discipline, chase excellence, participate in extracurricular activities and work hard in taking forward the university's legacy of service to the farming community and development of the Nation. He also urged the students to stay away from drugs, socialize and undertake physical activities for a healthy body and healthy mind. The program ended with an Anti-drug pledge by all the students to make the university campus drug free.

Dr. Suresh Kumar Sharma, Registrar apprised the students with the academic rules and regulations.

Dr. Meera D Ansal, Dean, College of Fisheries welcomed all and explained the scope and outcome of this program.

Dr. S.P.S. Ghuman, Director Students' Welfare educated the students to focus on physical and mental health, along with active participation in social and cultural activities to attain academic excellence in a holistic manner. He also sensitized the students about Anti-Ragging guidelines, student grievance redressal and student service center of the university.

Dr. Opinder Singh, Controller of Examination shared the examination and evaluation system of the university.

Dr. S. K. Uppal, Dean Post Graduate Studies motivated the students to set ambitious goals. He also shared avenues of post graduate education and highlighted the significance of academic discipline.

Students from the audience side also shared encouraging feedback about this knowledgeable program.
