Chandigarh, June 11 – On the occasion of Sant Shiromani Kabir Das Ji’s Jayanti, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini made several significant announcements including increasing Rs. 2100 in the monthly wages of Safai Karamcharis. Furthermore, he also announced the establishment of a 100-bed de-addiction center at the upcoming Sant Sarsai Nath Medical College in Sirsa. He also announced the expansion of the existing de-addiction center in Dabwali from 10 to 30 beds and the setting up of a new 30-bed de-addiction center near the government hospital in Ellenabad.

The Chief Minister made these announcements while addressing the state-level function held in Sirsa under the Sant Mahapurush Samman evam Vichar Prachar Prasar Yojana, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sant Kabir Das Ji on Wednesday. On this occasion, he also announced a grant of Rs. 31 lakh.

Reaffirming the government's commitment to the promises made in its Sankalp Patra, the Chief Minister said that the government has resolved to increase the wages of Safai Karamcharis in a phased manner to Rs. 26,000 over five years, a promise the government fully intends to fulfill.

Speaking about the spiritual legacy of Sant Kabir, the Chief Minister said, Sant Kabir was a torchbearer of India’s spiritual values of ‘Sarva Dharma Sambhav’ (equal respect for all religions) and ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the world is one family). He was born at a time when society was bound by superstition, casteism, and rigid traditions. Through his fearless reformist work, he earned a revered place in history, he said.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that Sant Kabir boldly challenged social evils across all religions. Saints, sages, prophets, and spiritual masters like him have shown the right path to humanity. Their teachings are the shared heritage of all humankind, and it is our collective responsibility to preserve and propagate this legacy, he said.

Prime Minister has played a Pivotal Role in Building Modern India- CM

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has always considered the teachings of Sant Kabir as the foundation of modern India. Advancing the ideals of Sant Kabir, Prime Minister has played a transformative role in shaping modern India after independence. Over the past 11 years, under his leadership, the government has launched several welfare schemes aimed at empowering and uplifting the poor, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

He said that following the Prime Minister’s vision, the Haryana government has also worked on the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’, implementing various schemes and policies for the upliftment of every section of society.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the core philosophy of the state government is ‘Antyodaya’, uplifting the last mile citizen. This is the path shown by Sant Kabir, and it forms the very foundation of our policies. Today, our ‘triple engine’ government is progressing on this path with triple the speed, he said.

Referring to the Supreme Court verdict regarding reservation for the Deprived Scheduled Castes, the Chief Minister said that the Haryana government swiftly implemented the decision in the state, ensuring that the DSC community received its rightful share.

Welfare of Safai Karamcharis a Priority- Chief Minister

The Chief Minister said that the government has taken significant steps to safeguard the interests and dignity of Safai Karamcharis. The Haryana State Commission for Safai Karamcharis has been established to address their welfare and rights. The government has also ensured safety and dignity by introducing insurance provisions Rs. 5 lakh compensation in case of death during duty and Rs. 10 lakh in case of death while cleaning sewer lines. In addition, over 5,000 Safai Karamcharis employed through private agencies have now been brought onto the official roles of the respective municipal bodies.

Highlighting the broader commitment to social justice, the Chief Minister shared that under the Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojana, a financial grant of Rs. 71,000 has been provided for the marriages of 2.6 lakh daughters belonging to Scheduled Caste families living below the poverty line. Further, under the Ambedkar Awas Navinikaran Yojana, Rs. 80,000 is being provided to BPL Scheduled Caste families for house repairs. So far, 76,985 beneficiaries have received assistance totaling Rs. 416 crore under this scheme, shared Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

CM calls for Embracing Sant Kabir’s Teachings; Urges Citizens to Rise above Caste and Discrimination for Nation-Building

The Chief Minister called upon the people to adopt the timeless wisdom of Sant Kabir in their lives and contribute to nation-building by rising above casteism and all forms of discrimination.

He said, today, the spirit of Sant Kabir is reflected in every scheme, every policy, and every decision of our government, all driven by the vision of 'Haryana Ek- Haryanvi Ek'.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini further emphasized that Sant Kabir’s teachings remain just as relevant today as they were centuries ago. Let us resolve to take Kabir’s message to every household. His words should not just be remembered but practiced in our daily lives. By transcending barriers of caste and inequality, we shall move forward towards building ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, he added.

Chief Minister ensured justice for the DSC community – Krishan Kumar Bedi

Earlier speaking on the occasion, the Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare, and Antyodaya (Sewa), Minister, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi, said that the teachings of great saints like Sant Kabir are extremely relevant in today’s society. He said that Sant Kabir gave the message of truth, equality, brotherhood, and humanity, a message that it is our collective duty to spread among the people.

The Minister said that the Supreme Court's decision had come in the month of August, and it was Sh. Nayab Singh Saini who decided to implement the verdict in favor of the DSC community. He said that the DSC community had to struggle for years. This issue was raised repeatedly before previous governments and Chief Ministers, but instead of solutions, the community only received assurances and had to resort to protests, he said.

Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi further said that leaders from the community were compelled to stage demonstrations, and many protesters even had to go to jail. However, the dream that once remained incomplete has now been fulfilled by the present government, he said.

Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi said that this celebration is not just a birth anniversary but a symbol of social transformation. He remarked that previous governments did not give due importance to celebrating the anniversaries of social saints and great personalities, whereas the present government has initiated a new tradition of celebrating the birth anniversaries of Maharshi Valmiki, Sant Ravidas, Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Sant Kabir, and other revered figures at the state level.

Mohan Lal Kaushik, while addressing the gathering, said that this day is not just the birth anniversary of a great personality, but a day to remember a visionary who showed society the path of harmony by rising above caste and discrimination. Former MP, Smt. Sunita Duggal said that Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has given a new identity and strength to the long-oppressed and marginalized sections of society. 844 Teachers Promoted in the State- Education Minister

State Government aims to further improve quality of education in Government Schools- Mahipal Dhanda

Chandigarh, June 11 – Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that the government aims to further enhance the standard of education in government schools. In this direction, 844 teachers have been promoted, including 4 to the position of Principal. Promotions for Block Education Officers (BEOs) and (DEOs) District Education Officers will also be done soon, and teacher transfers will be initiated shortly.

He informed that 35 Chemistry teachers and 18 Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) have been promoted to Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs). Besides this, One PGT each Sanskrit and English, and two Hindi have been promoted to the post of Principal. Similarly, 4 Commerce teachers, 207 in English, 1 in Geography, 203 in History, 137 in Political Science, 13 in Sociology, 150 in Sanskrit, 37 in Home Science, and 35 in Hindi have been promoted from TGT to PGT, shared the Education Minister.

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda further stated that the government has completed infrastructural development in every government school across the state, and other issues will also be resolved soon. He said that under the National Education Policy, new curricula are being developed to equip students to face challenges effectively.

The Minister said that skill-based education will also play a crucial role in India's development, and curricula are being designed with that in mind. He said that in different phases, a transfer drive for all categories of teachers will be started soon.

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that a new Model Sanskriti School will be opened within every 10 km radius so that students can have access to improved education. The present state government envisions setting up e-libraries for students in government schools. In line with this vision, e-libraries will be established in 197 Government Model Sanskriti Schools and 250 PM SHRI schools, he said.

Chandigarh, June 11 – Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Pankaj Agarwal said that the Election Commission of India conducts elections in the world’s largest democracy in a fair and transparent manner, in which the Chief Electoral Officers of states and union territories play a crucial role. To gain insights into India's election management, the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance organized a conference in Stockholm, where India’s Chief Election Commissioner, Sh. Gyanesh Kumar, delivered an address. He also held bilateral discussions with representatives of various countries and interacted with members of the Indian diaspora residing in Sweden.

He informed that the CEC reiterated the Election Commission’s focus on inclusive participation and civic engagement among Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs). He highlighted initiatives such as the online voter registration system and the Electronic Transmission of Postal Ballots Management System (ETPBS), aimed at enabling greater participation from overseas voters.

Sh. Gyanesh Kumar underlined India’s leadership in election management. The conference, being attended by over 100 participants representing nearly 50 countries, is organized by International IDEA in collaboration with the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Swedish Election Authority, and the Australian Electoral Commission.

He further informed that the countries whose Chief Election Commissioners held discussions with India’s CEC include the United Kingdom, South Africa, Indonesia, Mexico, Mongolia, Moldova, Lithuania, Mauritius, Germany, Ukraine, Croatia, and Switzerland. The key focus areas included combating disinformation, digital disruptions, electoral security, climate-related risks, and the role of artificial intelligence in elections. The India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) is also emerging as a premier institution for excellence in electoral management.

The Indian delegation also included senior officers of the Election Commission such as Sh. Rakesh Verma, Director General of IIIDEM, Sh. Vijay Kumar Pandey, Deputy Director General (Law) and Principal Secretary, Sh. Rahul Sharma.

No Compromise on Quality of Construction Material, says Irrigation Minister

Chandigarh, June 11– Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Minister, Smt. Shruti Choudhry said that there will be no compromise on the quality of construction material. The present state government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini is working with a zero-tolerance policy. In line with his directives, 48 samples of construction materials used in various ongoing projects of the Irrigation Department were collected, out of which 18 failed quality tests. As a result, 80 officials, including Junior Engineers (JE) to Chief Engineers have been charge-sheeted under Sections 7 and 8 of the Haryana Civil Services Rules, shared Smt. Shruti Choudhry while addressing a press conference at Chandigarh on Wednesday.

She emphasized that the government will not tolerate corruption. She said some projects were nearing completion, a stage where the accountability of officials increases significantly. After repeated complaints, the vigilance wing of the department conducted raids and took samples, shared the Minister.

Responding to a question, she said that a significant amount of payment had already been made to the contractors. She further clarified that possibilities of recovering the funds from the contractors will be explored.

Responding to a question regarding the Kishau Dam Project, Smt. Shruti Choudhry said that it is a national-level project and holds great importance for Haryana. Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini reviewed this project just two days ago. Through this dam, Haryana will not only receive water for irrigation and drinking purposes. The state will get 709 cusecs of water from the Yamuna River through the Kishau Dam, shared the Minister.

Responding to another question on the completion of 11 years of the Central Government, the Irrigation Minister said that we are fortunate to have a strong Prime Minister. Landmark decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the abolition of triple talaq, and operations Sindoor reflect his decisive leadership, she said.

*Haryana Accelerates Monsoon Preparedness: 78% Drain Cleaning Completed, Robust Flood Mitigation Measures Underway*

Chandigarh, June 11 – In a high-level meeting held today, Haryana’s Financial Commissioner for Revenue and Disaster Management, Dr. Sumita Misra, reviewed the state’s preparedness ahead of the upcoming monsoon. Chairing the meeting with all Deputy Commissioners, Dr. Misra emphasized a proactive and strategic approach to flood mitigation, calling for quality site inspections, real-time monitoring, and swift execution of all preparedness measures.

Dr. Misra directed Deputy Commissioners to ensure comprehensive contingency planning, including ground-level mock drills. She instructed officers to map all pumping infrastructure and manpower, identify flood-prone hotspots, and designate responsible officers for each critical area. Attendance and deployment of pump operators and support staff are to be closely monitored, with special focus on preventing urban waterlogging.

Dr. Misra further directed the Deputy Commissioners to oversee the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) to ensure the impeccable cleanliness of stormwater drainage systems in both urban and rural areas under their purview. Dr. Misra underscored Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini's clear directive: there will be absolute zero tolerance for any complacency or neglect of duty concerning this vital responsibility.

It was informed during the meeting that Haryana has significantly ramped up drain desilting activities achieving around 78% clearance of the targeted 4,097.41 km drain network as of June 10, a notable rise from 19.20% recorded on May 27. Dr. Misra set a firm deadline of June 20, 2025, to achieve 100% drain clearance.

The review noted that 672 out of 868 drains have been desilted for FY 2025, through a coordinated effort involving departmental machinery, MGNREGA workers, and e-tendering processes. The Land Reclamation and Development Corporation (LRDC) reported 82.51% completion, while Bhakra Water Services (BWS) has achieved 76.62%.

The Irrigation & Water Resources Department showcased its preparedness, with a robust inventory of 553.22 km of HDPE pipelines and 2,401 pumps including diesel, electric, and VT mobile units ready for rapid deployment.

Dr. Misra stressed the importance of addressing district-specific bottlenecks promptly to ensure smooth execution. “Our foremost priority is the protection of communities and agricultural land from monsoon-related risks,” she said, urging optimal resource utilization and timely project completion.

The Commissioner & Secretary, Irrigation, Sh. Mohammed Shayin apprised the meeting of ongoing efforts to safeguard the state’s population and farmland. The department is currently executing 209 short-term flood protection projects valued at Rs. 282.95 crore, most of which are scheduled for completion by June 30, 2025.

Public representatives are to be kept informed of the progress and have actively participated in the initiatives of the Irrigation and Public Health Departments. While numerous flood mitigation works are underway, district administrations and elected representatives are encouraged to provide feedback on the pace, quality, and future priorities to ensure the safety and well-being of the people of Haryana.

Chandigarh, June 11 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on wednesday laid the foundation stone of a 225-bed modern hospital at Jatela Dham located in village Majra (Dubaldhan), Jhajjar, on the occasion of the 225th Nirvana Day of Swami Nitanand Ji. He also inaugurated the Swami Nitanand Ashram Gaushala and planted saplings to promote environmental conservation.

The Chief Minister announced Rs. 31 lakh from his discretionary fund for the hospital. Besides this, Cabinet Ministers Dr. Arvind Sharma and Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi also gave Rs. 11 lakh each from their discretionary funds.

Extending greetings on the occasion of Purnima, the Chief Minister said that Jatela Dham has become a remarkable confluence of faith, service, and environmental commitment. He described the Dham as a center of spiritual consciousness, gaining identity as a spiritual hub through the blessings of saints.

The Chief Minister emphasized that when guided by saints, society moves in the right direction, and no goal remains unattainable. He said that it is due to saints like Swami Nitanand Ji that India has become strong. He urged every section of society to adopt the values embodied by Swami Nitanand Ji. The Swami Nitanand Mission Foundation continues its mission of eradicating social evils.

Speaking at the inauguration of the hospital’s first phase, the Chief Minister said this institution will not be just a structure of concrete and cement but a true temple of humanitarian service. Once operational, it will provide essential healthcare to the people of the area, benefiting not only Jhajjar but surrounding regions as well. Every district in Haryana will soon have modern, well-equipped hospitals, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

He shared that the government’s commitment to Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’ and spoke about several healthcare initiatives launched for the underprivileged. These include Chirayu Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, free dialysis in government hospitals, Nirogi Haryana etc. The government has allocated Rs. 10,159 crore for the health sector in this financial year, said the Chief Minister.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini further said that Haryana is the first state in the country to provide free medicines for Hepatitis B and C. Medical colleges are being established in every district, bringing the total number to 15. He said that the National Cancer Institute has been established in Badhsa, Jhajjar and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to extending healthcare to every citizen. Over 1.33 crore Chirayu cards have been issued in the state.

Highlighting environmental efforts, the Chief Minister praised the Dham's historic decision to plant approximately 82,125 saplings. He added that the government is also highly committed to environmental protection. Under the ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ campaign launched by Prime Minister Modi, Haryana exceeded its first-phase target by planting over 1.87 crore saplings and will plant another 1.82 crore in the second phase.

Notably, a large number of Veer Naris participated in the event and presented a Sindoor plant to Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini as a token of their unwavering patriotism. The Chief Minister acknowledged Jhajjar as a land of brave soldiers and praised the region’s deep-rooted sense of nationalism and service.

Parliamentary Committee Reviews Welfare Measures for Scheduled Castes in Haryana

Chandigarh, June 11- The Parliamentary Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes under the chairmanship of Dr. Faggan Singh Kulaste, conducted a study visit at Chandigarh today.

During this study visit, discussions were held with Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi and other senior officers of the Haryana Government regarding the socio-economic and educational conditions of the Scheduled Castes in Haryana.

During the meeting, various Centrally as well as state sponsored schemes for the welfare of Scheduled Castes being implemented in the State were discussed. Apart from this, the cases registered under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 alongwith the enforcement measures were also discussed by the Parliamentary Committee.

Among the other Hon’ble Members of the committee, Sh. Anil Firojiya, Dr. Mallu Ravi, Smt. Pratima Mondal, Sh. Arun Kumar, Adv. Chandra Shekhar, Sh. Alfred Kanngani S. Arthur, Sh. Devendra Pratap Singh, Sh. Mithlesh Kumar, Phulo Devi Netam, Sh. Jagannath Sarkar, were present during the meeting. Apart from this, senior officers of various departments of Haryana also attended the meeting.
