MAHENDERGARH, 20.05.25-The Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh is set to commence a new postgraduate programme, M.A. in Hindu Studies, from the academic session 2025–26. The course will be offered under the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management. Eligible candidates who appear for the CUET (PG) 2025 under the Test Paper code ACQP08 (Hindu Studies) will be considered for admission to this programme.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University emphasized the significance of this new initiative, stating that the objective is to deepen understanding of Hindu Studies through innovative academic exploration, research, and community engagement.
“Hindu Studies is an interdisciplinary field that provides a comprehensive understanding of one of the world’s oldest and most influential traditions — Hinduism — through its spiritual, historical, philosophical, scientific, and cultural dimensions,” said Prof. Kumar. He added that the programme will not only promote awareness of India’s rich knowledge heritage but will also equip students with skills relevant for employment and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Tejpal, Nodal Officer, CUET-2025 in the University said that a minimum of 50% marks in graduation (or equivalent) in any discipline is required to apply for the M.A. in Hindu Studies. Provisions for reservation as per government norms will be applicable. The university will offer a total of 20 seats for this programme in the first year.
