Chandigarh, 31 May: The Post Graduate Department of English at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, in collaboration with Yuva Stambh: The Pillar of Youth (NGO), successfully conducted a 7-day Bridge Course titled Fundamentals of English Language, to help learners strengthen their foundational skills in English.

The course was designed to enhance participants’ grasp of English grammar, with a special focus on tenses, narration, and the appropriate use of formal and informal language. Delivered through engaging, activity-based sessions, the programme included interactive discussions, role-plays, group tasks, and individual exercises aimed at building language proficiency and confidence. In addition to classroom activities, participants were encouraged to expand their vocabulary by learning new words and idioms daily. Educational visits to various campus locations—such as Rishi Vatika, the college sports ground, the library, and the Bio Gas Plant—were integrated into the curriculum to provide immersive learning experiences. A special session on environmental awareness included a talk on the hazards of plastic, followed by a slogan-writing activity promoting eco-consciousness. The course concluded with the distribution of certificates to the 26 participants who successfully completed the programme.
