Chandigarh, April 19 – While taking significant steps towards realizing the vision of transforming Panchkula into a smart city, Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development works worth over Rs 55.38 crore. These included inauguration of a newly constructed bridge over Ghaggar River, built at a cost of Rs. 50 crore. Additionally, he also laid the foundation stone for two dispensary buildings in Sector 28 and 31 with estimated cost of Rs. 4.64 crore and Gram Sachivalaya in village Kanauli, Barwala at a cost of Rs. 74.38 lakh. Furthermore, Sh Nayab Singh Saini announced to give Rs. 5 crore for development works in various villages under Panchkula Assembly constituency.

Sh Nayab Singh Saini stated that the projects inaugurated and foundation stones laid today will serve as a milestone in transforming Panchkula into not just a smart city, but also a cleaner, healthier, and more livable city. He emphasized that the goal is to develop Panchkula into a smart city equipped with all essential amenities for its citizens. Highlighting the broader vision, Sh Saini said that a developed Haryana holds a vital place in the realization of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi’s dream of a developed India. “If Haryana is to progress, the development of Panchkula is essential,” he said, adding that Haryana will play a crucial role in achieving the Prime Minister's vision of making India a fully developed nation by 2047.

*Panchkula's development gains new momentum and direction*

Extending his congratulations and best wishes to the people of Panchkula, the Chief Minister said that today marks a moment of great joy for the region. He said that the development initiatives launched today have given a fresh momentum and new direction to Panchkula’s growth. Expressing his optimism, he added, “I am confident that these projects will play a significant role in the development of Panchkula, a city that continues to thrive under the divine blessings of Mata Mansa Devi and Nada Sahib.

The bridge is expected to reduce travel distances by approximately 5 to 7 kilometers

He said that the bridge over the Ghaggar River has been constructed by the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) at a cost of Rs 50 crore. Spanning 360 meters in length and 16 meters in width, the bridge will significantly improve regional connectivity. It will provide easier access to Zirakpur, Rajpura, Patiala, and Mohali Airport, and will serve as a convenient shortcut for commuters traveling to Panchkula’s southern sectors, Zirakpur, and the southern sectors of Chandigarh. The bridge is expected to reduce travel distances by approximately 5 to 7 kilometers and ease traffic congestion in the area. This vital infrastructure is part of the PR-7 ring road project, which aims to enhance connectivity between Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh. Once fully developed, the ring road will help decongest not just Panchkula but also Chandigarh, offering major relief from traffic pressure.

The Chief Minister stated that this is the third bridge in Panchkula connecting sectors across the Ghaggar River. In addition to benefitting residents of Sectors 25, 26, 27, 28, and 31, the bridge will also provide improved access for people traveling from Barwala and Ramgarh. With direct connectivity to National Highways 5, 7, and 152, the bridge is poised to become a significant milestone in the development of Panchkula and the adjoining regions of Punjab.

He further shared that the dispensary in Sector 28 will be constructed on 1.30 acres of land, while the dispensary in Sector 31 will be built on 1.20 acres. Both buildings are expected to be completed within 12 months. Once operational, they will enhance access to quality healthcare services for the residents of Panchkula. The Chief Minister added that since the formation of the present government, Panchkula has been witnessing a new era of development, with several transformative projects setting new benchmarks for progress in the region.

*A new definition of development has emerged in the State over the past decade*

The Chief Minister stated that since 2014, when the Haryana government undertook the responsibility of public service under the leadership of the Prime Minister, both the direction and development trajectory of Panchkula and the entire state have seen a remarkable transformation. "In the last 10 years, we have redefined the meaning of development,” he said. “Today, Haryana’s ‘triple-engine’ government is working with triple the speed to deliver progress on all fronts.” He further said that the construction of a Sanskrit College building is underway in Shri Mata Mansa Devi complex in Panchkula, at a cost of Rs 22.19 crore. Additionally, work on the Shri Mata Mansa Devi Corridor modeled on the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor is in progress, aimed at enhancing the spiritual and cultural significance of the site.

*Panchkula witnesses historic development over the past decade*

Highlighting the major development works carried out in Panchkula over the past 10 years, Sh Nayab Singh Saini stated that several key projects have significantly contributed to the city’s growth. Among them is the establishment of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Sector 23, constructed at a cost of Rs 23.13 crore. Additionally, a state-level museum is being developed in Sector 5 at an estimated cost of Rs 8 crore. He also mentioned that the construction of a world-class shooting range in Sector 32 is currently underway, at a cost of Rs 125 crore.

*New revolution in the health sector*

The Chief Minister informed that significant strides have been made in strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in Panchkula. The District Civil Hospital has been upgraded to a 300-bed facility, enhancing medical services for the region. Additionally, the Dr. Mangal Sen Government Medical College and Hospital is being constructed in Sector 32, at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore. A National Institute of Ayurveda is also coming up in the Shri Mata Mansa Devi campus, at a cost of Rs 279 crore. Similarly, an Ayush Yoga Conference and Training Hall has been built in Sector 3 at a cost of Rs 51 crore. Moreover, a Senior Citizen Home in the Shri Mata Mansa Devi premises and a Community Centre in Sector 6 (Mata Mansa Devi Complex) have been developed at a cost of Rs 19.70 crore.

*Enhanced drinking water facilities*

Sh Nayab Singh Saini stated that significant efforts have been made to improve water supply and treatment infrastructure in Panchkula. To ensure the availability of Bhakra Canal water for residents, a pipeline was laid from Sector 39, Chandigarh to Panchkula at a cost of Rs 62 crore. This pipeline connects the water works in Sector 1 Panchkula and the Mata Mansa Devi Complex. For the purification of raw water supplied to the Sector 1 water works, a 32 MLD capacity water treatment plant has been constructed at a cost of Rs 33.60 crore. Additionally, the beautification of two natural water streams in Panchkula is underway at an estimated cost of Rs 95.42 crore. Furthermore, a 12.50 MLD capacity water purification plant was set up at Mata Mansa Devi Complex, Sector-1, Panchkula at a cost of Rs 12. 60 crore. A 24 MLD capacity water purification plant has been set up in Sector-32 of Panchkula at a cost of Rs 24. 20 crore. A tertiary water treatment plant has been set up in Sector-20, Panchkula at a cost of Rs 55. 51 crore.

*Congress should present a report card of its tenure*

While taking a dig at the Congress party, the Chief Minister said that while they demand an account of the development undertaken in the last 10 years, they must first present the report card of their own tenure. Sh Nayab Singh Saini remarked that the Congress has consistently misled the public with false claims. In contrast, he said, the present Haryana government is creating a new chapter in the state’s development journey, guided by the core principles of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas. He further stated that out of the 240 resolutions (Sankalp) made during the elections, 19 have already been fully implemented, and work is progressing rapidly on 99 others. “Every promise made to the people of the state will be fulfilled,” he affirmed.

*Providing better health services to every citizen is my dream” – Kumari Arti Singh Rao*

Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister, Kumari Arti Singh Rao, stated that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini are deeply committed to ensuring the health and well-being of every citizen. “A healthy mind resides in a healthy body,” she emphasized, underlining the government's dedication to improving healthcare access. To address the shortage of medical professionals, appointment letters have been issued to 1,000 doctors. Kumari Rao added, “As Health Minister, it is my dream that every individual receives quality healthcare services, and the government is taking this goal very seriously.”

*Gian Chand Gupta expresses gratitude to Chief Minister for development projects*

Former Speaker of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Sh Gian Chand Gupta, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini for launching various development initiatives in Panchkula. He highlighted that the construction of the bridge over the Ghaggar River, which began in February 2020, has been successfully completed in a period of five years. The bridge is expected to significantly ease travel for people commuting to and from Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, and will notably reduce travel time between Panchkula and Zirakpur. On this occasion, Sh Gian Chand Gupta also requested the Chief Minister to establish a university in Panchkula to further enhance educational opportunities in the region.

Chandigarh, April 19 – In the series of Haryana Uday Outreach Programme, Cyclothon carrying the Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini’s message for a ‘drug-free Haryana’ reached Yamunanagar today. The Cyclothon, covering various districts of the state, was flagged off from Polytechnic College, Damla (Yamunanagar) by Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana.

The Cyclothon Yatra, carrying the message of a “Drugs-Free Haryana,” became a center of attention, especially ‘lauta’ and ‘namak’. The campaign saw enthusiastic participation from the residents of the district. People also pledged to make Haryana drug-free.

Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi aims to make India a Viksit Bharat by 2047, and youth will play an important role in achieving that goal. He appealed to the youth to stay away from drugs and become active participants in eradicating this social evil.

He said to build a drug-free Haryana; every family must come forward and support this initiative of the government. Drug addiction is destructive for humanity, and it must be completely rejected. Cyclothon carrying the message of Drug-Free Haryana, organised by the state government is gaining public support and people from all parts of Haryana are raising their voices against drugs and are contributing to the yatra.

Chandigarh, April 19 – Haryana Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes and Antyodaya (SEWA) Department Minister, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi said that a grand state-level event will be held on April 20, 2025 in Uchana to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Dhanna Bhagat. He said this event will spread Sant Shiromani Dhanna Bhagat‘s message of harmony and service among the masses.

Sh.Bedi visited the venue near the Uchana bus stand to review preparations on Saturday. He said that Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini will be the chief guest at the State level event. Sh. Bedi directed the officers to ensure proper arrangements for drinking water and refreshments for the devotees attending the event.

He further said that many social representatives from across the state along with saints and spiritual leaders have been invited to join the celebration. He appealed to the people of Jind district to participate in large numbers.

He also said that under the Sant-Mahatma Samman evam Vichar Prasar Yojana, the state government organises birth anniversaries of saints and spiritual figures and these events are being held across the state.

He said that this event will not only inspire people to follow the values of service and dedication shown by Sant Dhanna Bhagat, but the visit of the Chief Minister will also boost the pace of development in the Uchana region. Both the central and state governments aim to empower and uplift the underprivileged, poor, and backward sections of society. The state government is ensuring that benefits of welfare schemes reach every eligible person, he added.

Earlier, Sh. Bedi also attended a free health check-up camp organised in honour of Sant Dhanna Bhagat's birth anniversary.

*Gas pipeline should not be laid under electricity lines; Investigation committee forms under ACS to ensure: Energy Minister Anil Vij*

*Anil Vij takes strict cognizance of the recent gas pipeline fire incident in Gurugram*

Chandigarh, April 19 – Haryana Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij has taken serious cognizance of the recent fire incident caused by a gas pipeline in Gurugram. Calling it a serious matter, he said that a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary of the Energy Department. This committee will ensure that no gas pipeline is laid beneath electricity lines and that all safety norms are followed. A complete survey will also be conducted across Gurugram to assess the situation.

While interacting with the mediapersons Sh. Vij said that adequate arrangements have been made for the power supply. He said that preparations have been completed and sufficient electricity is available. He has directed that transformer banks and vehicles be stationed at each substation to handle issues quickly. Old wires and conductors will be replaced. Directions have also been given to increase the capacity of low-load transformers wherever needed. The department is working in a phased manner to improve systems.

*Thermal units to be set up in Khedar and Panipat: Vij*

He said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi recently laid the foundation stone for an 800 MW thermal unit in Yamunanagar. Similarly, new thermal units will be established in Khedar and Panipat to expand capacity. He said that Haryana has no shortage of power and all arrangements are in place. The problem occurs when there is a fault in the electricity, then it takes time to fix it, directions have been given to the officers in this regard. He said that recently a meeting of the officers of the Energy Department has been held in Chandigarh, to discuss reforms and improvements in the sector.

Responding to a question about the suspension of an officer and curbing bureaucratic misconduct, the Minister said that it is unacceptable for government officers to ignore calls from elected representatives. He clearly stated that the government runs with the support of MLAs, and if officers refuse to even take their calls, how will they hear the problems of common man, it is a direct insult to democracy and “I will not spare such people,” he added.

He emphasized that the all-round development of Gurugram remains a key priority for the state’s triple-engine government.

Rao Narbir Singh was addressing the gathering after laying the foundation stone for various development works in village Mohammadpur, under the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation Gurugram, on Saturday. Gurugram Mayor Raj Rani Malhotra and Joint Commissioner Akhilesh Yadav were also present on this occasion.

The Cabinet Minister expressed gratitude to the people for electing him in the Assembly elections and assured them that he will always strive to uphold the trust and confidence with which they have sent him to Chandigarh as their representative. Addressing the gathering, Rao Narbir Singh highlighted various government schemes and said that the present government is highly sensitive and fully committed to the holistic development of the state. He emphasized his continuous efforts to make Gurugram a clean, beautiful, and pollution-free city, and urged the public to actively participate in these initiatives. “Development schemes are being implemented at the ground level across Gurugram, and to ensure that these projects are completed with quality and in line with public convenience, your cooperation and vigilance are essential,” he said. Rao stated that work is going on in full swing across all departments in the district and its positive outcomes will become evident in the near future. He further informed that the construction of a community center in village Mohammadpur will soon be completed by HSIIDC, and land for the project has already been identified.

On this occasion, the Environment Minister also appealed to the public to contribute towards making Gurugram a polythene-free city. He said that since Gurugram is a prominent district in the National Capital Region (NCR), any positive and meaningful initiative taken here can inspire other districts to follow suit.

Cooperation Minister, Dr. Arvind Sharma participated as the Chief Guest in the 44th annual function and prize distribution ceremony of Government College for Women, Gohana on Saturday. His wife, Dr. Rita Sharma, was also present at the event.

While speaking on the occasion he said that in the past ten and a half years, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has taken many historic steps to support and empower daughters. From birth to education and employment, the government has created a favorable environment for girls.
