MAHENDERGARH, 10.02.26-The Department of Sociology, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh organised an eight-day Educational and Exposure Tour from 10–17 February 2026 to promote experiential and field-based learning. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor flagged off the tour.

Covering locations in Meerut, Rishikesh, Dehradun, and Haridwar, the tour provides students exposure to diverse social, cultural, and ecological contexts, complementing classroom learning through field observation. The programme also includes interaction with the Van Gujjar community to understand indigenous livelihoods and sustainability concerns.

Faculty members T. Longkoi Khiamniungan, Tanvi Bhati, and Kashmira Khanam are accompanying the students. The Department described the initiative as an important step toward strengthening practical sociological understanding and critical thinking among students.
