Chandigarh, October 22: The Department of Mass Communication at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised a highly informative educational visit to the print media house at, Chandigarh. The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to witness the functioning of one of India’s leading newspapers and gain practical exposure to the world of print journalism.

The objective of the visit was to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world media practices. Students observed the various stages of newspaper production- from news gathering, editing, and layout designing to printing and distribution. They also interacted with journalists who shared valuable insights into newsroom ethics, editorial judgment, and the challenges of maintaining credibility in today’s fast-paced media environment.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the initiative, stating that such experiential learning opportunities equip students with industry-oriented knowledge and skills essential for success in media professions. She emphasised that visits of this nature foster critical thinking and professional preparedness among budding journalists.
