KHERI GURNA BANUR, 31.08.25-On the occasion of the 26th Death Anniversary of Pandit Mohan Lal Sharma Ji, the founder of the GGDSD College Society, the NSS unit of the college organized a free medical health check-up camp in the college in collaboration with Lions Club, Chandigarh and Amcare Hospital, Zirakpur on 30th August’ 2025.

Dr. Siddharth Duggal CEO and Eye Surgeon from PGI Chandigarh and Associate Director Mr. Ravinder Chawla, Dr. Abhishek Dhawan (Dental surgeon), Dr. Amanpreet Kaur (Physician) from Amcare Hospital were present with their team of doctors and nursing staff.

Around 105 people from near and far villages participated in the camp and got their health checked. A team of eye specialists, dentists and physicians graced the occasion. Free medicines were also distributed to the needy people. Free spirometry test along with blood sugar and blood pressure were also done.

On this occasion, College Principal Major (Dr.) Virender Singh said that health is the greatest asset of a human being. Such camps are very useful in making people aware about their health and providing advanced health facilities to the rural people. He expressed special gratitude to Lions Club and Amcare Hospital who contributed to this work of social welfare and congratulated Mr. Swarn Singh- NSS Program Officer for conducting the camp successfully.

Officials of Lions Club and Amcare Hospital also assured that more such camps will be organized in the future to connect people of surrounding villages with advanced health services.

Sarpanch from neighbouring villages also participated in this camp to motivate all and extend their support. Free Langar was also arranged for all.
