- Dharamshala, 27 October, 2026: Under the directions of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the police are intensifying action against drug traffickers under the state-wide Anti-Chitta campaign. The initiative focuses not only on curbing drug trafficking but also on identifying and freezing assets allegedly acquired through illicit drug proceeds, with the objective of disrupting the financial networks that sustain the drug trade.
In a significant step under the state-wide Anti-Chitta campaign, the Competent Authority and Administrator has confirmed the freezing of three properties with a combined assessed value of Rs. 1,01,55,718 (over Rs 1.01 crore), following a financial investigation conducted by Nurpur Police in district Kangra.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Nurpur Police District, Dharmchand Verma today informed that the case originated from an FIR registered at Indora Police Station on 30 May, 2017, following the recovery of 6.50 grams of heroin from a woman, Dalviro. On 1 April, 2025, the court convicted her and sentenced her to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment, besides imposing a fine of rupees one lakh.

Based on the findings, Indora Police Station issued a freezing order on 28 September, 2026 and forwarded it to the Competent Authority in New Delhi for confirmation.
After examining the investigation report and relevant records, the Competent Authority and Administrator, acting under the provisions of the NDPS Act and the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act, confirmed the freezing order on 26 October, 2026.
