chandigarh, 04.11.21-Under the able gidance of Mrs Monica Chawla Principal, St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D Chandigarh, has always been a front runner when it comes to promoting eco friendly practices. A firm believer in the notion that the true essence of Diwali lies in giving, in illuminating lives by uplifting spirits- the Josephian family came together to make this grand occasion a memorable one by contributing their bit to ensure that the message of celebrating a Green Diwali was spread loud and clear.
Students exhibited their handiwork in an exclusive Exhibition organised in the school premises, which was a rich mix of traditional and modern artwork crafted especially by the Josephians. Earthernware hand painted and embellished diyas, lanterns, bandhanwars, as well as the eco friendly toys prepared by the students for the Virtual Toy Fair were displayed.

Students also took a pledge to denounce crackers and practise Green Diwali.
The Chief Guest Shri. Debendra Dalai – Head of the Department of Forest, Wildlife and Environment as well as the Guest of Honour- Mr. Sachin from the NGO Youth Innovative Society graced the occasion and effusively praised the worthy efforts of the students.
Members of the School Management, Mr. Sukhdeep Grewal and Mr. Paramdeep Grewal marvelled at the creative talent and initiative of the pupils and encouraged them to continue their campaign regarding safeguarding the environment.

Principal Ms. Monica Chawla expressed her happiness at the McGill vibes spread by the endeavours of the Josephian family and extended her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who was a part the event.
