Chandigarh, January 02 :The Combined Annual Training Camp of the Chandigarh NCC Air Squadron began at the Air Force Station Chandigarh.

107 NCC Air wing cadets including 39 girls, representing 05 institutions in Chandigarh, along with 09 instructors of Air Force, associate NCC officers and civilian staff are participating in the camp which will conclude on January 10.

Inaugurating the camp, Brigadier Ranjit Singh Group Commander NCC Group HQ Chandigarh said, the NCC imparts discipline and fitness among the youth. Addressing the cadets, he exhorted the cadets to excel in all fields, enjoy the training and develop camaraderie and friendship among themselves. He called upon cadets to utilise this opportunity to excel in their career.

The camp commandant, Group Captain M R Pandeya, said the camp was aimed at imparting quality training to the cadets in Flying, Drill, Weapon use, Shooting and Aero-modelling, besides conducting sessions on National Integration, Road Safety, Fire Safety, Health and Hygiene and Personality Development. Various competitions such as Quiz, Sports and Cultural Activities are also being conducted to identify potential cadets who will be fielded for various Nationallevel camps. As part of training and motivation, cadets will also be shown various aircraft of the Indian Air Force.

On successful completion of the camp, cadets will become eligible for appearing in NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examinations as applicable said the Camp Commandant Wing commander M R Pandeya.
