Chandigarh, 3 February: The Start-Up Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, in collaboration with the Postgraduate Department of Commerce and under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organised a three-day Inter-College workshop on ‘Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies for Start-Ups’. The initiative was designed to provide students and aspiring entrepreneurs with hands-on exposure to contemporary sales and marketing practices, ethical business conduct, emerging technologies, and real-world entrepreneurial ecosystems.
The workshop commenced with an insightful session by Ms. Swarleen Kaur, TEDx Speaker and Startup Coach, who highlighted sustainable sales strategies and elaborated on various government initiatives supporting start-ups, including the Startup India Seed Fund and the Atal Innovation Mission. This was followed by an engaging session by Ms. Drishti Kharbanda, Founder of Bake Cosmetics, who discussed psychology-driven promotional strategies, consumer behaviour, empathy-based branding, and the need to break gender stereotypes in entrepreneurship. The second day featured address by Mr. Paramdeep Singh Anand, Co-founder of FieldAssist, Gurgaon, who emphasised ethical and socially responsible sales practices and their long-term impact on business sustainability. The subsequent session by Ms. Maninder Kaur Panesar, Founder of Zenauf Tech Pvt. Ltd. and Maninder Wave, familiarised participants with social media sales techniques, digital branding, SEO, AI tools, and platform-specific marketing strategies. The workshop concluded with a review and presentation session, during which students presented case studies on student-led start-ups developed through collaborative group discussions and brainstorming exercises conducted throughout the programme.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma stated that the workshop served as a significant platform for fostering entrepreneurial acumen among students. She added that by integrating academic perspectives with industry insights and experiential learning, the programme contributed meaningfully to the development of ethical, innovative, and socially responsible future entrepreneurs, in alignment with the institution’s commitment to excellence and innovation.
