Chandigarh, August 29 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, on Saturday, attended Film Expo India at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi as the Chief Guest and felicitated various artists on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that regional cinema has emerged as a new strength of Indian cinema and language is no longer a barrier. A compelling story can transcend linguistic boundaries, and today, a good story can reach audiences across the world, he said.

Inviting filmmakers and directors to shoot their films in Haryana, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that they should come to Haryana and the State Government would provide them not only shooting locations but also extend full support. On the occasion, he also extended greetings on National Sports Day, observed on the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand.

Appreciating Film Expo India, the Chief Minister said that the Expo is not merely a celebration of India’s talent, but also of the country’s creative strength and culture. It celebrates an India that is writing its own stories and sharing them with the entire world. He said that the Film Expo brings together cameras, producers, directors, artists and writers, all of whom play an important role in filmmaking.

The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of pride that India has some of the greatest stories in the world. This land has given us the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, the sacred stories of Krishna Leela and inspiring accounts of the sacrifices of great warriors.

He said that the Haryana Government has implemented the Film and Entertainment Policy-2022 to create a conducive and film-friendly environment for filmmaking in the state. The State Government is providing a subsidy of up to Rs. 2 crore for films shot in Haryana.

*Cinema is a Mirror of Society*

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that cinema in India has never been merely a source of entertainment. It is also a mirror of society and a powerful medium capable of giving society a new direction. Very few mediums have the same ability as cinema to influence the thoughts and aspirations of the younger generation.

He said that the journey of Indian cinema, which began with Dadasaheb Phalke’s Raja Harishchandra in 1913, has today entered a new era of technology and global reach. India is among the countries producing the largest number of films in the world, and its strength lies not only in Hindi cinema but also in its linguistic and cultural diversity.

The Chief Minister said that India has a civilisation spanning thousands of years, folk tales, epics, stories of valour, tales from village chaupals, tribal traditions, diverse languages and countless dialects. He said that the need now is to take India’s stories to the world in India’s own voice, powered by Indian talent and the latest technology. In this direction, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, has given the vision of ‘Create in India, Create for the World.’

Congratulating the Film Expo India team, the Chief Minister said that the event is an innovative effort to bring the entire filmmaking ecosystem onto a single platform. He said that the global entertainment industry is changing rapidly. There was a time when a story was written on paper, shot on camera and eventually reached cinema halls. Today, technologies and platforms such as AI, VFX, animation, gaming, virtual production, extended reality and OTT have become an integral part of storytelling.

He said that the young professional sitting behind a computer and using technological skills to bring an imaginary world to life on screen is today as important as the artist standing in front of the camera. He said that the successful filmmaker of the future will embrace new technology with an open mind while never losing touch with human emotions and cultural roots.

Film actor Mukesh Rishi appreciated the Haryana Government and Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, for the various development initiatives undertaken by the State Government and its policies related to the film sector. Film actor Preeti Sapru also spoke in detail about the Cine Artist Welfare Trust and Film Expo.

Chandigarh, August 29 – Haryana’s Mewat region received a major boost in the field of education on Saturday as Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, handed over appointment letters to 1,054 newly appointed Primary Teachers (PRTs) of the Mewat Cadre during a State-level Orientation Programme held at the Grain Market in Nuh.

The Chief Minister said that the appointment of the new teachers will improve the teacher-student ratio in the region and further strengthen the standard of primary education. He said that the organisation of such a large-scale programme on the land of valour associated with Veer Hasan Khan Mewati was a matter of pride for the Mewat region.

On the occasion, a grand exhibition comprising 22 education-related stalls was organised for the newly appointed teachers, which was visited by the Chief Minister. An effective training session was also conducted through a PowerPoint presentation on a large LED screen to enhance the professional skills of the teachers.

Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda and Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, were also present.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, described the new recruitment as a victory of the merit of the youth. He said that under previous governments, jobs were given based on nepotism, caste considerations, regionalism and the ‘parchi-kharchi’ system. He said that after the BJP Government came to power, more than 2 lakh government jobs have been provided without ‘parchi-kharchi’, restoring the self-respect of deserving youth, whereas the previous Congress Government had provided merely 86,000 government jobs during its 10-year tenure. He also strongly criticised the Aam Aadmi Party over alleged corruption in recruitments in Punjab.

The Chief Minister said that Mewat, once considered educationally backward, is now witnessing a remarkable rise in the number of talented and high-achieving students. With the strengthening of employment and education, a new educational dawn is emerging in Mewat. In this direction, an amount of Rs. 39.90 lakh was released under the ‘Mukhyamantri Mewat Chhatra Pratibha Samman Yojana’ for 70 meritorious students who secured more than 90 per cent marks in the Board examinations. He said that the number of such students has increased from 40 last year to 70 this year. Besides, scholarships amounting to Rs. 52.44 lakh were also released to 1,364 students under the ‘Mukhyamantri Mewat Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme’.

He said that around 26,000 youth have been provided jobs on a contractual basis through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam and have also been provided service security through legislation.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, has envisioned making India a developed nation by 2047, and the younger generation will have a crucial role in realising this vision. It is with this objective that the new National Education Policy has been implemented on the initiative of the Prime Minister.

The Chief Minister said that Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for 450 school buildings in the district have been prepared and the government has released Rs. 200 crore. A total of Rs. 400 crore will be spent on the upgradation of these schools. He said that two phases of teachers’ training under NIPUN Haryana have already been completed, and around 32,000 PRT teachers are planned to be trained next month.

*Chief Minister Calls Upon Teachers to Take Five Pledges*

Addressing the newly appointed teachers of the Mewat Cadre, Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that their appointment is the rewarding outcome of years of hard work and the sacrifices made by their families. He urged the teachers not to view their appointment as a difficult posting, but as a posting for transformation, and to give their best wherever opportunities appear limited.

He said that learning should be made engaging through games, stories, pictures, activities and local examples. The mother tongue and local dialect of children should be respected, and an environment should be created in classrooms where asking questions is regarded as curiosity rather than a weakness.

The Chief Minister further said that technology is an important tool in education and digital content can make learning engaging, but while machines can provide information, they cannot impart values. Therefore, teachers must always keep human relationships at the centre of the educational process.

On the occasion, he called upon the teachers to take five pledges: to treat every child as their own; ensure that no child is left behind in learning; attend school punctually and with honesty; involve parents and society in education; and teach children, through their own conduct, those values that cannot be taught through textbooks.

Chandigarh, August 29 – In a major initiative towards strengthening urban waste management in Haryana, the State Government has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for setting up four Integrated Waste-to-Energy Plants. To be established in the Hisar, Ambala, Faridabad and Gurugram clusters, these plants will collectively process 5,000 tonnes of waste per day through scientific methods and generate a total of 50 MW of energy once they become operational. The plants are expected to become operational by October 2028.

On the occasion of the signing of the MoUs in Nuh, the Chief Minister said that these agreements mark a major step towards making the cities of the state cleaner, healthier and more modern. The plants will be established by Oil Green Energy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oil India Limited. He said that this partnership will not only give fresh impetus to Haryana's urban development but will also bring about a significant transformation in the way waste is managed across the state.

The Chief Minister said that with increasing urbanisation, the challenge of proper waste management is also growing steadily. Waste is not merely a problem; with the right technology and scientific systems, it can be converted into energy and useful resources. Translating this approach into action, an important beginning has been made towards setting up four Integrated Waste-to-Energy Plants in the state.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, while giving the nation the resolve of Swachh Bharat, has also provided a new vision through the concept of ‘Waste to Wealth’. Haryana is moving forward with the same vision. The State Government is working to ensure that heaps of waste do not accumulate in cities, the practice of open dumping and unscientific disposal of waste is reduced, and scientific waste disposal is ensured through modern technology. This initiative will further strengthen that resolve.

*Hisar Cluster to Generate Energy from 500 Tonnes of Waste Daily*The Chief Minister said that the first Integrated Waste-to-Energy Plant will be established in the Hisar cluster, covering the concerned Urban Local Bodies of Hisar, Hansi, Fatehabad and Jind. The plant will process 500 tonnes of waste per day and is expected to generate a minimum of 5 MW of energy.

*900 Tonnes of Waste to be Processed Daily in Ambala Cluster*

The second plant will be established in the Ambala cluster, covering Urban Local Bodies in Ambala, Yamunanagar and Panchkula districts. The plant will process 900 tonnes of waste per day and is expected to generate a minimum of 9 MW of energy.

*Faridabad Plant to Generate Minimum 16 MW Energy from 1,600 Tonnes of Waste*

The third plant will be established in the Faridabad cluster, covering Faridabad district. The plant will process 1,600 tonnes of waste per day and is expected to generate a minimum of 16 MW of energy.

*Highest-Capacity Plant to Come Up in Gurugram; 2,000 Tonnes of Waste to be Processed Daily*

The fourth plant will be established in the Gurugram cluster, covering Gurugram district. It will process 2,000 tonnes of waste per day and is expected to generate a minimum of 20 MW of energy.

The Chief Minister said that when all four plants become operational, they will collectively process 5,000 tonnes of waste per day and generate a total of 50 MW of energy. He expressed confidence that the plants would become operational by October 2028, in accordance with the envisaged timeline. On the one hand, thousands of tonnes of waste will be scientifically processed every day, while on the other, the same waste will be utilised to generate energy. Converting what is currently viewed as waste into energy and useful resources is the essence of the ‘Waste to Wealth’ vision.

*Different Types of Waste to be Processed Using Modern Technology*

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the distinguishing feature of these plants is not merely their capacity but also the integrated and modern technology that will be adopted. Different types of waste will be appropriately processed according to their nature. Waste will first undergo pre-processing. A Compressed Biogas plant will be provided for producing biogas from wet waste, while dry waste that cannot be reused or recycled will be processed in the Waste-to-Energy plant.

He said that the objective of the entire system is not merely to burn waste, but to process it scientifically and sustainably while minimising waste incineration. The State Government will ensure that there is no compromise on environmental protection and that the highest environmental standards are adhered to at these plants.

*Financial Assistance to be Provided Under ‘Urban Challenge Fund’*

The Chief Minister said that the financial arrangement for setting up these plants is a good example of cooperation and partnership between the Central and State Governments. The projects will receive financial assistance under the ‘Urban Challenge Fund’ of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.

He said that 25 per cent of the total capital cost of the projects will be borne by the Central Government. Another 25 per cent will be shared by the State Government and Urban Local Bodies, while the remaining 50 per cent will be invested by Oil Green Energy Limited. Thus, the Central Government, State Government, local bodies and a strong public sector entity will jointly take forward this initiative to make Haryana's cities cleaner and more modern.

*Plants to be Established in Accordance with Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026*

The Chief Minister said that these plants will be established in accordance with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, notified by the Government of India. These rules are also aimed at ensuring scientific management of waste and maximising its utilisation.

*Public Participation Essential to Turn Cleanliness into a People's Movement*

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that cleanliness is not the responsibility of the government alone. The government can put systems and facilities in place, establish modern plants and introduce scientific technology, but it is the responsibility of every citizen to segregate waste generated from homes and institutions. It is only when government systems, modern technology and public participation come together that the cleanliness campaign can truly become a people's movement.

He said that the government's goal is to ensure that Haryana's cities are not only large and modern, but also clean, healthy, beautiful and environmentally safe. The government envisions a Haryana where heaps of waste do not become the identity of the state, but energy generated from waste becomes an achievement; where waste is not a burden but a resource, and cleanliness is not merely a campaign but a way of life.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that through the collective efforts of the Central Government, State Government, Urban Local Bodies and Oil Green Energy Limited, these projects will move forward in a time-bound and effective manner. He called upon all stakeholders to work together to make Haryana one of the leading states in the country in cleanliness, scientific waste management and environmental protection.

He said that the government is moving forward with the objective of transforming waste from a problem into a solution and from a burden into a resource and an asset. *SIR 2026- Election Commission Gives Another Opportunity to Voters in Haryana*

Chandigarh, August 29, 2026 – The Election Commission of India has once again revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Haryana. As per the revised schedule, claims and objections can be filed from July 31 to September 30, 2026. Claims and objections will be disposed of from July 31 to October 28. Under the revised schedule, the final electoral roll will now be published on November 6.

Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, Sh. A. Sreenivas said that the Election Commission has revised the dates keeping in view the interests of the voters of the state. The extension will provide relief to eligible citizens who, for any reason, could not file a claim or objection relating to the electoral roll within the stipulated period.

He said that the Commission is working to ensure that the name of every eligible Indian citizen in the state is included in the electoral roll and that the particulars of electors enrolled therein are accurate and error-free.

If the name of any eligible person is not included in the electoral roll, a claim for inclusion of the name can be submitted through Form 6 along with the requisite documents and declaration. So far, a total of 87,262 Form 6 applications have been received. Besides, 6,167 Form 7 applications and 79,246 Form 8 applications have been received.

The Election Commission has so far issued 41,59,707 notices, while 21,98,288 objections have been disposed of.

All citizens have been urged to check their names and particulars in the electoral roll. In case of any discrepancy, they should file the requisite claim or objection within the prescribed period.

These included a boosting station constructed at a cost of about Rs. 2.75 crore, a Government Senior Secondary School building constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.80 crore, and development works at the village chaupal undertaken at a cost of Rs. 8 lakh. These projects will provide better drinking water, educational and community facilities to the villagers.

Interacting with the villagers, the Cabinet Minister also heard their grievances. He directed the officers concerned to resolve the issues raised by the villagers as per rules and on priority. He said that ensuring quality execution of development works and providing the benefits of government schemes and facilities to the people in a time-bound manner are among the priorities of the State Government.

Sh. Ranbir Gangwa said that once the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster project, proposed near Hisar Airport, is completed, it will give a boost to industrial activities in the region and create new employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth. He said that along with expanding infrastructure in Hisar and the surrounding areas, the government is also working towards enhancing industrial and employment opportunities.

*Projects to Benefit Residents, says Cabinet Minister*

The Cabinet Minister said that the tender for construction of the road between Nyana and Kharkari villages has already been awarded. The road will be constructed at an estimated cost of about Rs. 2.32 crore. Once completed, it will facilitate easier movement for villagers and improve connectivity with surrounding villages.

He said that a boosting station has been constructed at Kharkari village at a cost of Rs. 2.75 crore to strengthen the drinking water supply system. The facility will improve the availability and distribution of drinking water and help ensure an adequate supply for the villagers.

The Cabinet Minister further said that the Government Senior Secondary School building has been constructed in the village at a cost of Rs. 1.80 crore. Better and modern educational infrastructure will provide students with a conducive environment for learning. Besides, development works worth Rs. 8 lakh have been carried out at the village chaupal, providing improved facilities for social and community activities.

Chandigarh, August 29 – The Gurugram Metro Expansion Project achieved a significant construction milestone on Saturday, successfully lifting its first 160-tonne U-girder. The U-girder was lifted at Pier No. 26/27 near Cyber Park with the help of hydraulic cranes having capacities of 400 tonnes and 600 tonnes.

Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, performed a puja to mark the commencement of this important construction activity. Thereafter, in his presence, the U-girder was successfully placed at the designated location in accordance with prescribed technical standards and safety protocols.

Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, said that with the lifting of the first U-girder, construction work on the Gurugram Metro Expansion Project has entered a new phase on the ground. The expansion project is among the key priorities of the Haryana Government. The government's objective is to provide modern and improved public transport facilities in Gurugram so that civic amenities expand in tandem with the city's development. He said that while accelerating the construction work, strict adherence to quality and safety standards is also being ensured.

Rao Narbir Singh said that the lifting of the first U-girder is not merely another stage in the construction process, but an important step towards better connectivity for Gurugram in the future. As the project progresses, residents will begin to see its positive impact on the ground. The successful lifting of the first U-girder has given fresh momentum to the construction of the Gurugram Metro Expansion Project. Chandigarh, August 29 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, while chairing the 32nd meeting of the Mewat Development Board held on Saturday at the Mini Secretariat in Nuh district headquarters, said that Nuh district is rapidly moving towards becoming a major hub for employment and self-employment opportunities for the youth. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister said that on his initiative, Nuh was included under the Aspirational Districts Programme, under which NITI Aayog has so far approved 12 projects worth Rs. 36.20 crore.

Various important issues, including education, health, sports, irrigation, sewerage and cyber security, were discussed during the meeting. During the meeting, a budget of about Rs. 30 crore 43 lakh 79 thousand was approved under the Annual Action Plan for the financial year 2026-27.

The Chief Minister said that development works worth about Rs. 10.06 crore have been approved for strengthening the education sector in Nuh district. These include providing dual desks in government schools, setting up Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) labs in 20 government schools, scholarship schemes and providing coaching to students, among other initiatives. Under social infrastructure development, about Rs. 4.50 crore will be spent on the renovation of the stadium at Pingwan and development of a public park on the premises of the old court complex in Nuh.

An amount of Rs. 87 lakh will be spent on skill development, while Rs. 1.50 crore will be spent on development works related to the animal husbandry and agriculture sectors. Similarly, a proposal to develop a swimming pool and a 200-metre synthetic track at the District Sports Stadium has also been approved to strengthen sports infrastructure. A budget of about Rs. 5.42 crore has been approved for various works related to forestry, rainwater harvesting and soil conservation.

The Chief Minister said that a proposal to establish a state-of-the-art Cyber Forensic Laboratory at a cost of Rs. 1.16 crore for the prevention of cybercrime has also been placed before the Board. He said that modern technology will be used to effectively strike at the root of cybercrime.

The Chief Minister directed the officers to ensure that all approved development works are completed within the stipulated timeframe. He said that no compromise would be made on the quality of development works and accountability would be fixed for officers responsible for delays.

*Free Coaching to be Provided*

The Chief Minister said that free coaching will be provided to the youth of the Mewat region for preparing for government job examinations. Under this initiative, coaching will be provided for examinations conducted by the Staff Selection Commission, Railway Recruitment Board, Haryana Staff Selection Commission, CET and banking examinations. He said that thousands of students have so far been provided financial assistance amounting to crores of rupees under the Mewat Scholarship, Post-Matric Scholarship and Chhatra Pratibha Samman Yojana.

He said that to improve the capacity of Nuh city's sewer network, an approximately 2,900-metre-long bypass sewer line will be laid using trenchless technology. The sewer line will run from the gate of the new YMD College to the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) via Mewli Mor and Shaheedi Park. This will directly benefit residents of nearly a dozen colonies, including City Hospital Colony, Medical Road Colony, Hidayat Colony, Baghel Mohalla, New Sabzi Mandi, Old Grain Market and Bittu Colony.

The Chief Minister said that under the Divya Nagar Yojana, administrative approval has already been accorded for the construction of a sports complex in Nuh at a cost of Rs. 12.52 crore and an auditorium-cum-museum at a cost of Rs. 20.92 crore.

The Mewat Development Agency has prepared an Annual Action Plan of Rs. 30 crore 43 lakh 79 thousand for the year 2026-27, with the highest allocation of Rs. 10.06 crore earmarked for the education sector. Various proposals, including the construction of 176 girls’ toilets in schools of Hathin block, upgradation of health centres and installation of a solar power plant at the government college, were also placed during the meeting.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, said that the State Government is fully committed to the development of the Mewat region. He directed all departments to ensure progress on their respective works and present a concrete progress report on the approved works at the next meeting.

Chandigarh, August 29 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, on Saturday, gave a major development boost to Nuh district by inaugurating and laying the foundation stones of 22 development projects worth Rs. 174.66 crore. The projects encompass key initiatives aimed at strengthening healthcare services and expanding sports, education and other public infrastructure. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stones of 17 projects and inaugurated five projects.

The largest among these projects is the construction of a 100-bedded District Civil Hospital (DCH) on the premises of the old CHC in Nuh at a cost of Rs. 155.49 crore, for which the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone. Under various projects of the Health Department, Sub-Health Centre (SHC) buildings will also be constructed at village Adbar at a cost of Rs. 60 lakh, village Chharora at Rs. 79 lakh, village Kankar Kheri (Kherli Nuh) at Rs. 64 lakh, village Nai at Rs. 69 lakh, village Siroli at Rs. 61 lakh and village Indri at Rs. 63 lakh. Block Public Health Unit (BPHU) buildings will also be constructed at village Padheni at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh and at Pingwan at a cost of Rs. 62 lakh.

*Sports and Education Infrastructure to Get a Boost*

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones of various projects of the Mewat Development Agency. These include the construction of a public park in Nuh at a cost of Rs. 2.45 crore, renovation of the sports stadium at Pingwan at a cost of Rs. 1.80 crore, and establishment of 100 Model Anganwadi Centres at a cost of Rs. 1.47 crore.

Similarly, girls’ toilets will be constructed in 33 government schools of Nuh block at a cost of Rs. 1 crore, while a sub-divisional-level library will be constructed in Hathin block at a cost of Rs. 39 lakh. Hybrid solar power plants will be installed in 14 government schools of Hathin block at a cost of Rs. 1 crore, while playgrounds will be developed in 10 government schools of Hathin block at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh.

Besides this, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of an Alvi Bhawan at village Lahabas in Pingwan block at a cost of Rs. 86 lakh.

*BPHU and TB Office Building Inaugurated*

The Chief Minister inaugurated two important projects of the Health Department. These include a Block Public Health Unit (BPHU) building constructed on the premises of CHC Punhana at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh and a TB Office building constructed on the premises of Civil Hospital, Mandikhera, at a cost of Rs. 1.54 crore.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated projects of the Mewat Development Agency, including the renovation of sports stadiums at village Shahpur-Nangli (Nuh) and Kameda (Ferozepur Jhirka ) at a cost of Rs. 85 lakh, and sports facilities provided in 16 government schools of Nuh district at a cost of Rs. 80 lakh.

The Chief Minister also distributed scholarships amounting to Rs. 92 lakh to students under the Mukhyamantri Mewat Garib Medhavi Chhatravriti Yojana and the Mukhyamantri Mewat Chhatra Pratibha Samman Yojana.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government is committed to continuously expanding healthcare, education, sports and other basic infrastructure in Nuh district to provide better facilities to the people. He said that these development projects will not only strengthen healthcare services but will also provide better educational and sports facilities to students and youth. The government remains committed to ensuring equitable development of all regions of the state.
