Chandigarh: Rotarians from Rotary Club Chandigarh Central met the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, at Punjab Raj Bhavan. On the occasion, Club President Rtn. Vaibhav Bhatnagar, PP Rtn. R.S. Cheema, PP Rtn. Ashish Midha, and Rtn. Ankit Jain were present.

During the meeting, the club invited the Administrator to inaugurate the Adult Vaccination Centre being set up at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32. This center is specifically being established for the geriatric age group (65 years and above), as immunity tends to weaken with age and many diseases can be prevented through vaccination.

The Administrator graciously accepted the invitation. The inauguration of the center is scheduled for Monday, May 11, at 10:00 AM at GMCH-32, Chandigarh.

This center is considered highly important for senior citizens, as their immune system declines with age. There is a common misconception that vaccination is only necessary for young children; however, increasing awareness about its importance among adults is equally essential.
