During the meeting, President highlighted certain shortcomings in the CCTV cameras installed in Modern Housing Complex by MC under the MPLAD Scheme.

Colonel Singh apprised the ADC that cameras are not being utilized effectively due to the following reasons:

1. No Monitoring Facility: In the absence of monitors/display screens, it is not possible to view live feeds or recordings.

2. Lack of Clarity on Jurisdiction: In the event of an incident such as an accident or theft, it is unclear whether the Police or the Municipal Corporation is to be contacted.

3. No Power Backup: The date and time settings of the Digital Video Recorders reset during power failures as there is no power backup. Regular updating is required.

4. Layout Not Shared: The layout showing exact camera locations has not been provided to the RWA.

He said that to make the project effective for crime prevention and investigation, prompt action on the above issues is requested. Additional funds may be required for monitors, power backup, and related issues.

Copies of the letter were endorsed to the MC Commissioner and local SHO.
The ADC assured prompt action.
