Chandigarh, April 20, 2026: A significant awareness and outreach event was organized at Attawa under Poshan Pakhwada, focusing on the theme of Mother and Child Nutrition, along with promotion of registration on the Pankhudi Portal to encourage donations for Anganwadi Centres. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of N.A. Culture Society, the Sarpanch of Attawa, the Area Councillor, doctors from the local dispensary, and other respected residents of the area, reflecting strong community involvement.
At Mouli Colony, an informative lectures were delivered by the ANM and LHV highlighting the importance of maternal and child health, followed by a Godh Bharai ceremony to support and celebrate expectant mothers. An additional awareness session on minimizing screen time among children was conducted at RC Dhanas-2, where beneficiaries were sensitized about engaging children in creative activities and using locally available materials for making DIY toys at home.
The campaign also included various awareness initiatives such as lectures on AYUSH for well-being, the importance of food fortification, and promotion of Poshan ke Panch Sutra. Home visits were conducted to promote complementary feeding practices and to encourage the early introduction of millets in children’s diets. Efforts were also made to strengthen community participation through youth group meetings, promotion of millets, campaigns for developing backyard kitchen gardens, and spreading awareness through home visits. Special emphasis was laid on promoting Anganwadi Centres as vibrant early learning centres.
The event successfully brought together stakeholders and community members, reinforcing the collective responsibility towards improving nutrition, health, and overall development of women and children.
