SHIMLA- 6 November, 2025-A special ‘Milan Programme’ was organised at Raj Bhavan, Shimla, to mark the Foundation Day celebrations of 17 States and Union Territories. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and interacted with the citizens of these States residing in Himachal Pradesh.
The event brought together citizens representing Delhi, Jharkhand, Punjab, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Ladakh, and Chandigarh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the Milan Programme was not only a platform to bring together citizens of these States and Union Territories but also a powerful expression of the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. He said that through this initiative, people from different parts of the country celebrate their unique cultural heritage, languages, traditions, and lifestyles, thereby strengthening the spirit of unity in diversity.
“India is a confluence of many cultures, and this event is a reflection of our collective effort to preserve and promote this unity,” said the Governor. He added that the purpose of this programme was to bring people together and encourage harmony among diverse communities living in the State.
Citizens representing various States and Union Territories also shared their thoughts and experiences during the event, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate their cultural identity in the heart of Himachal Pradesh.
Secretary to the Governor C.P. Verma, Director of the National Academy of Audit and Accounts Amitha, Director of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education Dr. Manisha Thapliyal, and other distinguished guests were also present on the occasion.
