CM directs HPPCL to expedite execution of power projects

While reviewing the functioning of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) here today, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu directed to expedite the execution of ongoing hydro electric power projects. He reviewed the 450 MW Shong Tong Power Project and directed to ensure its completion by December 2026. He said that more than 60 percent of the project had already been completed and emphasised the need to accelerate the remaining work. He also directed that the transmission line be established in parallel to ensure timely evacuation of the power from this project.

Sh. Sukhu also discussed the progress of 130 MW Kashang-II and III, 48 MW Chanju-III, 40 MW Renuka Dam and 191 MW Thana Plaun hydro electric power projects and instructed that the timelines for the completion be strictly adhered to.

He stressed on setting up pump storage projects and asked the Corporation to initiate the work on the proposed 1630 MW Renukaji pump storage project and 270 MW Thana Plaun pump storage project at the earliest. He said that pump storage projects are useful in supplying electricity during peak hour demand and reducing the load on the grid.

Sh. Sukhu said that harnessing green energy remains a key priority for the State Government and HPPCL should expedite the work of ongoing solar power projects. He also instructed the Corporation to identify new land parcels for setting up new solar power projects across the State.

The Chief Minister also reviewed one MW green hydrogen plant coming up at Nalagarh and directed to complete the project by the end of June, 2026. He directed the Corporation to adopt professionalism in their functioning and said that the present State Government has set the target of making Himachal Pradesh a Green Energy of the country by the next year.

Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta, Secretary Power Rakesh Kanwar, Managing Director HPPCL Abid Hussain Sadiq and other senior officers were present at Shimla while Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister Ram Subhag Singh joined the meeting virtually.

रोड टैक्स में भी मिलेगी चार माह की छूट

किलाड़, 6 नवम्बर-मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू की हिमाचल दिवस (15 अप्रैल 2025) के दौरान जनजातीय उपमंडल पांगी के युवाओं को स्थानीय स्तर पर रोजगार के अवसर उपलब्ध करवाने की घोषणा के अनुरूप उप मंडलीय प्रशासन ने इच्छुक स्थानीय लोगों से आवेदन आमंत्रित किए हैं।

उल्लेखनीय है कि मुख्यमंत्री ने हिमाचल दिवस के उपलक्ष में जनजातीय उपमंडल पांगी के मुख्यालय किलाड़ में आयोजित राज्य स्तरीय कार्यक्रम में घाटी के लोगों को बेहतर परिवहन सेवाएं तथा स्थानीय युवाओं को रोजगार के अवसर सृजित करने के लिए नए बस- ट्रैवलर खरीदने पर अनुदान उपलब्ध करवाने तथा परमिट प्रदान करने की घोषणा की थी।

मुख्यमंत्री की घोषणा को अमली जामा पहनाते हुए उपमंडल अधिकारी नागरिक रमन घरसगी की ओर से जारी सूचना में कहा गया है कि स्थानीय युवाओं द्वारा बस- ट्रैवलर खरीदने पर 40 प्रतिशत का अनुदान उपलब्ध करवाया जाएगा तथा चार महीने के लिए रोड टैक्स में छूट भी प्रदान की जाएगी।

योजना से लाभ उठाने के इच्छुक स्थानीय लोग अपने पहचान प्रमाण के साथ 10 नवम्बर, 2025 तक उपमंडल अधिकारी नागरिक (एसडीम पांगी) के कार्यालय किलाड़ में आवेदन कर सकते हैं।

Rs. 460 crore disbursed for Kangra airport expansion, Rs. 1899 crore will be released soon: CM

• Reviews various projects of tourism department

While reviewing the various ongoing tourism projects of Tourism department here today, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that land awards amounting to Rs. 460 crore has been released and disbursed to the beneficiaries towards land acquisition for the expansion of Kangra airport, while another Rs. 1899 crore awards are ready for disbursement.

He said that expansion of Kangra airport is of paramount importance as it will bolster the economy of not only Kangra district but the adjoining districts. It will go a long way in promoting tourism activities in this region thereby generating employment and self employment opportunities to the local youth. He said that the expansion of this airport would also attract high end tourists to the area.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the ongoing project of setting up heliports across the State and directed to accelerate the construction work. The operational authorization for Sanjauli and Rampur Bushair heliports have been received from Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and directed that operations should commence soon after completing the remaining codal formalities.

He also reviewed the ongoing construction work of other heliports being set up at Kagnidhdar in Mandi district, Rakkar and Palampur in Kangra district, Sultanpur in Kullu district, Reckongpeo in Kinnaur district and Jaskot in Hamirpur district and instructed the officers to complete these projects by next year. He said that better air connectivity for the tourists will boost tourism in these areas. He asked that the new routes for operation of the helicopters should be identified and made operational to facilitate the tourists. He said that tourism is the mainstay in the economy of the State and the present State Government was promoting tourism in a big way.

Sh. Sukhu directed to expedite the construction work of Auhar tourist complex in Bilaspur district as 46 percent of work has been completed so far. He also reviewed various tourism projects being constructed with ADB funding and instructed to accelerate the construction work of these projects.

Principal Secretary, Tourism Devesh Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar, Director of Tourism Vivek Bhatia and other senior officers attended the meeting.
