CHANDIGARH, October 26th, 2025: 600+ students participated in the 66th Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival to exhibit their talent and skills on the second day at GGDSD College, Chandigarh.

During the event, students showcased their talents in various activities, including skit, mimicry, Bhand, Kali singing, Kavishri, Vaar singing, debate, elocution, poem recitation, Muhavredar, Vaartalaap, quiz, embroidery, Phulkari, Bagh, Dasuti, Cross-Stitch Pakhi, designing, crochet work, knitting, and Mehndi.

Sh Rakesh Kumar Popli, PCS, Additional Chief Administrator, PUDA, and Additional Chief Administrator, GMADA, Mohali, shared his vision of improving infrastructure and teaching standards. He urged students to channel their energy into positive pursuits, explore themselves, and participate in extracurricular activities. He said the Youth Fest is a great platform for budding artists, re-energizing them with creativity and freshness. He advised students to stay sincere to their teachers and parents, calling them true role models, and wished them success in life. The youth festival rejuvenates the energy of young minds. Teachers are the guiding forces and role models who inspire students to explore their potential.

Addressing the gathering at the college auditorium, Registrar of Panjab University Dr. Prof. Y. P. Verma, a visionary leader, shared that the youth festival is the meeting point of energy and enthusiasm. He stated that such fests build character, confidence, leadership, and teamwork and offer practical learning. Calling it a festive season, he said real development lies in connecting to one’s roots and heritage, adding that the Youth Fest gives students opportunities and memories to cherish forever. He urged them to carry forward the legacy of heritage, contributing to Viksit Bharat with skill, energy, innovation, and purpose, inspiring the next generation to drive the nation's progress.

The second day concluded on a high note, marked by the youth's energy, cheerfulness, and celebrations. Students enthusiastically showcased their talents, making it a memorable day filled with creativity and joy.
