CHANDIGARH, 31.08.25-The Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, successfully organized the “Dermoscopy and Trichoscopy: Preceptorship and Hands-on Training” on 30–31 August 2025. Held under the aegis of the International Dermoscopy Society and in association with the Dermatoscopy Society of India (DySI), the two-day event attracted wide participation from dermatologists across the country.
The program was led by Organising Chairperson, Prof. Davinder Parsad; Scientific Chairperson, Prof. Sunil Dogra; and Organising Secretary, Dr Vinay Keshavmurthy. Prof. Sanjeev Handa, Sub-dean research PGIMER, Head of the Department of Dermatology at PGIMER formally inaugurated the event with Prof Balachandra Ankad, Founding President of the Dermatoscopy Society of India, while Dr G P Thami, Director Principal, GMCH 32, Chandigarh, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.
Day one of the conference was dedicated to workshops, where participants received hands-on training on patients with varied dermatological conditions. Sessions were conducted on alopecias , mucoscopy, inflammatory dermatoses, pigmented lesions, cutaneous malignancies and UV fluorescence microscopy.
Day two featured a series of expert lectures and panel discussions focusing on advances in dermoscopy. Topics included newer dermoscopy devices, video dermoscopes, trichoscopes, dermoscopy of the scalp, nails and mucosa, and its role in interventional dermatology. National and international faculty enriched the academic discourse with their insights and clinical experience.
