CHANDIGARH, 23.08.25-College Library of Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Sector 32, Chandigarh, under PM-Usha Scheme (RUSA), in collaboration with NDL Club of the College, organised a workshop on CMIE Prowess IQ Database
The workshop aimed to empower students and research scholars with hands-on training in accessing, analyzing, and interpreting financial and corporate data (covering over 108,873 companies) for academic and research purposes. The distinguished resource person, Mr. Sagar Choudhary, Senior Manager Sales & Business Consultant at the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy Pvt. Ltd., engaged the audience with valuable insights and practical strategies for effectively utilizing the CMIE Prowess IQ database to support data-driven research, enhance academic projects, and strengthen evidence-based decision-making in the fields of commerce and management.
The session commenced with a green welcome ceremony led by Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Registrar, who emphasized the need to nurture a research-orientated mindset among students and scholars. He highlighted the importance of adopting modern digital tools and databases to remain aligned with the evolving academic and corporate landscape.
During the workshop, Mr. Choudhary guided participants on navigating the Prowess IQ interface, extracting relevant financial data, and applying it to real-world research problems. He also shared best practices for data interpretation, integration of database insights into academic writing, and the role of such resources in bridging the gap between theory and practice.
