MAHENDERGARH, 08.05.25-The IEEE Student Branch of Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh under the Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group, successfully organized a speech competition titled “SheSpeaks” to celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of women in everyday life. The event was graced by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, who emphasized the pivotal role of women in shaping society. Prof. Vikas Garg, Dean, SOET also extended their appreciation and support for such empowering initiatives.
Prof. Akash Saxena, HoD, Department of Electrical Enginnering said that he is proud of his department's involvement and the remarkable coordination by the IEEE WIE Affinity Group. He further added that powerful discussions on women’s everyday struggles—balancing work, family, and personal aspirations—were truly inspiring. ,Prof. Ajay Kumar Bansal Prof. Rajesh Kumar Dubey, Dr. Manish Kumar, Dr. Sumit Saini, Dr. Muralidhar Nayak Bhukya, and Dr. Munish Manas actively contributed to the event's success. The program was coordinated by Dr. Kalpana Chauhan, IEEE Student Branch Counselor, and Ms. Poonam Sharma, IEEE SB Chair, with strong support from student officers of the WIE Affinity Group.
In words of Dr. Kalpana Chauhan, Women are the backbone of society, managing multiple roles with strength and grace. Through ‘SheSpeaks,’ we have created a platform where these stories of resilience and perseverance are shared and celebrated. I am deeply grateful to the IEEE WIE team, student volunteers, and our university leadership for their constant support in making this event a success. The event saw vibrant participation from faculty, staff, students, and workers. The inclusion of mothers and wives of CUH staff made the event truly community-oriented. A key highlight of the event was the powerful discussion on the daily struggles of women in balancing married life, professional responsibilities, and childcare. Participants shared their real-life experiences, highlighting the challenges of managing multiple roles with grace and perseverance. These honest and heartfelt narratives sparked meaningful conversations on empathy, gender equity, and the need for supportive work environments. Participants shared impactful personal stories highlighting women’s daily struggles and triumphs, sparking thoughtful conversations around empathy, equity, and empowerment. Dr. Pinki Arora judged the competition and distributed prizes and certificates. She had emphases on to believe in yourself in every situation to get the success. With over 50 participants, the event concluded with a collective message of gratitude and a shared commitment to inclusivity and empowerment at CUH.
