CHANDIGARH,01.09.26-Renowned Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr Vidya Rattan, has officially taken over as the new Head of the Oral Health Sciences Centre (OHSC) at the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. He succeeds Prof. Satinder Pal Singh following his superannuation.
Dr Rattan brings decades of clinical expertise, landmark medical innovations, and an outstanding academic record to his new leadership role.
Throughout his distinguished career at PGIMER, Dr Vidya Rattan has been doing pioneering work in complex Temporomandibular joint surgery, correction of facial & jaw deformities and managing orofacial trauma. He is Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Oral Biology and Craniofacial Research. He has been Chairman of Indian Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Currently he is also President of Chandigarh Chapter of Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons of India. He has actively served on vital administrative committees at PGIMER, including managing affairs of Biomedical Innovation hub as Chairman.
On assuming office, Dr Vidya Rattan expressed his commitment to steering the Oral Health Sciences Centre towards bringing accessible patient care and best possible treatment. He emphasized aligning the department's goals to be best centre in the country for patient care, dental education, research and community services.
