Chandigarh, August 28: Reacting sharply to reports of opposition to the MLA in three villages of the Nabha Assembly constituency, Bharatiya Janata Party Scheduled Caste Morcha, Punjab State Vice President Paramjit Singh Kainth said that the Aam Aadmi Party government has now become so nervous about public resentment that, **instead of facing the ground reality, it is busy defending itself through videos and statements.

Kainth said that if the people are satisfied with the MLA’s performance, then why are questions being raised about opposition in the villages? Instead of issuing explanations, the government should go to the people’s doorstep and answer them.

He said, “Making videos will neither end the people’s anger nor can government publicity change the ground reality.”

Taking aim at the Aam Aadmi Party, Kainth said that the government, which made tall promises before the elections, is now running away from the people’s questions. A government that, instead of listening to public opposition, tries to suppress it or change its image moves away from the true spirit of democracy.

He said that the people of Nabha do not want political drama; they want development and accountability. The government and local representatives will have to stop running away from the people’s questions and give them an account of their performance.

Kainth warned that the BJP will firmly oppose, through democratic means, every attempt to suppress the voice of the people.“The people of Nabha are asking questions—now the MLA and the government will have to answer.”
